Never said they werent good last year FFS.. They just look even better IMO.

Also Thurston looks to have stepped his game up even more.

Young Matt Scott from the cowboys is going pretty well, named in the starting side this week.

A few players looking real good this year compared to last year are:

Jamie Soward
PJ Marsh
Glen Morrison
Troy Thompson
Matt & Kurt Gidley
Cameron Smith
Joel Clinton
Willie Mason

Those are just a few of who are looking the goods so far this year compared to last.

Add to that Sonny Bill Papworth. He's looking a bit better in his team suit this year than he did last year. I'm guessing he went the tailored Hugo Boss this year since he wears it more than his jersey.

Let's see how well Cronk plays against a decent team. No offence, but scraping by a bound for the spoon Warriors and one of the worst performances the Rooters have ever produced doesn't mean he's got the goods just yet.

Cronk,Thurston, Bowen, Brian Carney, Johns, Sing, Williams and after what I saw last Friday night it looks as though the Doggies are well and truely back in form!

Forget Cronk, this Saturday night is Storm's first real test as a team. I have been saying if we play like we have the last 2 weeks we'll get spanked by at least 30 points...

Cronk looks like he's going good. That pass for Hoffy's try on Sunday was brilliant but as a TEAM, Melbourne's big test is this Saturday. We just won at 2 venues where our record is poor and DFS is the biggest challenge of all. I don't think we'll be taken as a fair dinkum football side if we dont beat, or at least get within 6-10 points of the Cows on Saturday!

Add Evarn Tuimavave to the improved list, he's looking fit and keen and bending back the line with most of his charges. If the rest of the Warriors pack can follow his example we might just avoid that spoon :?

Based off what i've seen so far, i've compiled a team of players which have really stood out for me so far and are in for a big year, feel free to disagree and make your own:

1. Brett Hodgson
2. Matt Sing
3. Steve Bell
4. Mark Gasnier
5. Hazem El Masri
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Andrew Johns
8. Mark O'Meley
9. Cameron Smith
10. Steve Simpson
11. Nathan Hindmarsh
12. Tony Puletua
13. Ben Kennedy

Young Guns Flying: Greg Iniglis, William Zillman, Brett Stewart, Jamie Soward, Cooper Cronk, Regan Tanner, Aaron Payne

Players looking rusty: Braith Anasta, Anthony Minnichello, David Howell, Matt Orford, Darren Lockyer

what do you think?

Not a bad selection, but Hazam, get real? If it weren't for his goal kicking he would not make first grade, i feel. Nothing personal, I just don't rate him, too slow & too small for a class winger.

The are many wingers I would have in front on him..

You dont watch games closely enough. Even if he wasnt a goal kicker he would still hold his place in the team.
Avgs at least 1 try per 2 games which isnt bad for a winger.

Matter of opinion, I stick by what I say, I would not have him in my first grade side. I would take Luke Rooney, Wes Naiquama, Grothe Jr, Bot (Brisbane winger) just to name a few..

Bott is woeful.. I would take Hazem out of all those in that list, he scores so many tries that he has no right to score (in a good way) and is very safe under the high ball. One of the most underrated footballers in the game.
