I was at the Maggies game last night at WIN and they honestly wernt as bad as the socreline suggests - they scored about 5-6 tries, Kiro got a double, Kerr got one, can't remember the rest. It was a game of touch basically - St George would score 2, Wests would score 1. Goal kicking also let Wests down big time - they could of had a scoreline in the 40's if it wasn't for whoever was doing the kicking that night - he even missed one from right in front. Viane had a great game. Richard Parker was sent off for a high shot on someone as well.

I think Heremaia would of been kicking. Don't know why Collis isn't kicking when he is a noted goal kicker and Heremaia isn't...

Yeah, i laughed off the 70 point thrashing 2 weeks ago but 190 points conceded in 3 weeks!!! thats not a concern, thats a crisis in the art of confidence. Now correct me if im wrong wests fans but the only players of real note they lost in the off season were John Olzard and Clint Greenshields right??

Now thats not a huge turnover from last season and you add the additions of fomer flegg players and so on its hard to see why they're in such a rot. I know losing the coach Gentile was a blow but what going on??? It sorta Ironic with Balmain travelling high that they're the one's pushing the PL joint venture and wests wont, anyways to me something's gotta give at wests cuz somethings defenetly not right there.

They lost their front row if you happen to care.

It's got nothing to do with playing talent. The team could quite easily win the comp on paper, they just can't seem to put it together regularly.

They played well last week and got carved up by Reick (5 trys  )

Remember, WT hit a rut a month or two ago.

westie maggpies are in a big rut. i hope they do well but there is no excuse to be letting in 70 pts. merge the lower grades what are wests waiting for, you'd think balmain are the 1's not wanting to merge

Are you kidding me??? Thats the biggest understatement I've ever heard. Both teams have the potential to win the comp and they are going to miss the 8.

Yeah, thats what amazes me most, this isnt a side lacking talent, after all its a side that performed so well last season. Obviously the loss of Paterson and Gibbs doesnt help, im guessing there's also a fe forwards outr injured that im unaware of.

Westie......Still what sort of impact is the loss of Gentile and even Olzard and Greenshields having this season.

Don`t forget Trent Clayton scored a try or 2 in each game he played!I saw the Magpies play 4 games earlier in the year in which they won 3 of them. They still have basically the same side at the moment and it`s very difficult to work out how or why they have copped 4 straight floggings!

Well..... after following the Pies for 48yrs nothing much ever changes. To be honest i was glad that they put us out of our misery there was never going to be anything happening .The thrashings just keep coming .The SAD PART IS there is still an element that thinks they will one day be back in the NRL !!!!!!! NOW that is SAD one piece of advice MERGE PREMIER league and finally start to feel like a WINNERS and be part of something that will be going forward into the future not .

I think losing O'Farrell really hurt. Levy provided so much on field aswell. Eisenhuth was another that left. Macey could of been handy this year.

Heremaia ain't a goal kicker, Collis is a very good converter and I think he needs to be given the job from next week on.

Yeah, i feel sorry for you guys, the last few weeks have been tough to state the least, good times ahead hopefully though, and at least it was good to see the flegg side get a win.

If the best of both squads are retained for next season Premiers side we'll go fine. The problem seems to be both sides have about half a team that puts it in and the other half just aren't cutting it. Good oppositions will always take full advantage. When the best of Flegg is mixed with the best in prems and with a coaching staff who after a full year (and off-season) together (not to mention learning from their own mistakes) we'll get back where we should be.

The call up from Flegg hasn't been as much as it should have in hindsight. At the start of the season I thought not calling on too many Flegg boys was going to be a bonus, but the older players we've brought in haven't done the business, with the exception of Kerr and Atkinson. We would have been better off calling on more of the younger guys to step up. I don't think we'll make the same mistake next year. One other big factor in the recent floggings is Covell. Plenty here bag the guy, but you don't know your backside from a hole in the ground. He adds so much to our side. He cleans up so many dangerous situations, gets in and does the dirty work when we need it, and generally inspires his team mates with his 100% attitude. We might have been losing with him in the side, but never anything like the last few weeks. We haven't looked anything like the same side without him.
