When do we call time?

The coach has said we’re bigger this year, which is obvious to see. That would imply we aren’t fitter, since with conditioning you can’t achieve increases in every category with the limited time and effort available.

Plus the staff know how fit they are - they test them constantly, and know where their targets are and how to get them there. No chance they start a season less fit than they’re expected to be, and no chance they can improve in every area. There is limited time in a pre-season and therefore a need to focus. We went bigger this year, not fitter. Alvaro is the obvious example. Paulo is obviously smaller and fitter than he was, but he wasn’t here last year. He was at the fat Raiders.

Guthersons bigger and seems just as fit or fitter.

Uninterested. That comes to busting gut and losing. Atleast 3 or 4 games we could of won early to mid season. Sharks,Brisbane,Warriors,Dogs come to mind. May of been different if did win them. It is a hard sport to bust your arse when cant make finals and a game where if 10% off in efforts you lose. Other sports you can be off game energy wise and still win. NRL you just cant.
Why winning is important for confidence and less pressure.

I think our “increased fitness” is due to being bigger meaning we can expend less energy to get the same result. That’s physics. The balance of strength and fitness is more efficient now than it was last year

Yep, this is particularly evident in the wrestle.

Read something recently think it may have been a gutho interview (or maybe it was on here), anyhow it suggested with our back 3 (even Taka too) now making good metre’s and potentially taking the first 3 hit ups at times it gives our forwards up to a min break during parts of the game.

Thus it keeps our forwards fresh (and looking fit) and able to use more energy in defence.

Just like the Roosters, who also have a smaller pack.
