There is no such thing. It's dead. I feel like burning my QLD jersey, because it just doesn't mean anything anymore. It obviously doesn't mean anything to the players.. They don't care, why should I? It's a bloody disgrace.

NSW have so much more passion, because it means more to get into the NSW team. BEcause they are so bloody good most of the time. For the record, im a QLD supporter, we dont even know what passion is anymore.

QLD started strong. Then Johns set up a few NSW tries in quick succession and they just seemed to give up.

yeah they did, during the first 15 minutes they wanted to score a try but the blues didn't let them. QLD was missing Slater next year QLD selectors don't go for the Cowboy go for the Stormin Slater.

Queensland started strong, but lacked the direction and leadership that a true halfback brings to the side. QLD will be stronger next year with either Smith or Prince in the number seven.

Antoher NRL article from me. Blue murder in Origin decider

6 July 2005

Ricky Stuart's Blues proved themselves to be one of the great NSW sides after demolishing Queensland 32-10 in tonight's State of Origin series decider at Suncorp Stadium.

Former garbage collector Matt King was on cloud nine after joining an elite band of eight players - three from NSW - to have bagged a hat-trick of tries in an Origin game.

It was blue murder - a night most of the 52,496 fans will want to forget as the Blues notched their biggest ever Origin victory on Queensland soil.

Only one previous NSW side - the 1994 Phil Gould-Laurie Daley outfit - had fought back from 1-0 down after losing the opening game to win the series.

It puts NSW up 12 series to 10 and gives them a 37-36 edge in
head-to-head in the 25th anniversary year.

Again the destroyer was champion halfback Andrew Johns.

Johns, who overcame a knee scare early in the game, followed up his sublime second game effort in Sydney with another command performance that surely must have buried critics who have hedged at putting him in the same class as Wally Lewis.

"It's a great feeling," said Johns who kicked three goals as well setting up most of the NSW tries.

"We were always very confident going into the game.

"I really enjoy being out here, it's what footy is all about."

The Maroons are famous for their Origin comebacks.

But this Blues side was never going to let them back in, despite a late flurry from Queenslanders.

It wasn't until the 74th minute that the Maroons scored, tireless half-back Johnathan Thurston getting over the line before his Cowboys teammate Matt Bowen dived through the tackles of King and Mark Gasnier to score his fourth Origin try in the left hand corner just three minutes later.

Queensland forward Michael Crocker was reported for a swinging arm on NSW forward Ben Kennedy in the first half.

The Blues were ruthless, impenetrable in defence and dynamic at times in attack with Johns again playing the puppeteer.

They scored six tries to two and and their dashing fullback Anthony Minichiello was acclaimed man of the match and also man-of-the-series after strong performances in all three games.

Queensland had no answers and few excuses, outplayed in almost every department by a NSW outfit which completed only the second hat-trick of series wins and the first since 1994.

RTat's what the Manly fans are screaming Ben Ross' way.

They're bloody pathetic, not only was there no heart in that performance, it was just dumb bloody football (I guess thats what you get with Hagen). They didn't look even remotely close to breaking that NSW line in that opening phase, all they were doing were cut out balls on to Lockyer and Bowen, NSW weren't going to crack to that. NSW like to put width on the ball but when they attack QLD's line they put the ball through the hands and commit defenders not just slide from sideline to sideline.

NSW have been just too far ahead since 2000, QLD haven't won a series since 2001 and won't win another one for a while yet. You get the feeling that Origin is going to the way of NSW dominating with every few years QLD having a gutsfull and pulling out a series win then back to NSW dominating.

As disappointed as I was going to be if Qld lost anyway, it was the way we lost to really hurt. I'm angry, at the players and at the selectors. Example, Bowman has served Qld well and thanks for that Paul, but how can Morris and gang say they are dropping Scott Prince cause 'he played well but we didn't win last year', yet hang onto Bowman when we have better, younger, centres not picked.

Congrats NSW, but it's just the way we played that really disappoints me today.

Nope, QLD is definitely on the way up. A lot of new blood coming in, and with the Gold Coast setting up that will only increase.

I'd level most of the blame on the selectors tonight. There was NO penetration. Without Webb, Slater, Tonga, Bell, Hodges, no one could break the line. Things will definitely be shaken up next year. New coach, new ethos, new lineup. Look at the "baby" Broncos coming through and how they are dominating at such a young age.

Having said all that, NSW were absolutely ON FIRE last night. I've never seen an Origin team defend so well for so long, and their attack was flawless. A joy to watch.

Dear,

Matt Bowen, Ty Williams, Paul Bowman, Shaun Berrigan, Matt Sing, Darren Lockyer, Jonathon Thurston, Cameron Smith, Petero Civoniceva, Brad Thorn, Tonie Carroll, f**k All Flannery, Ben Ross and Corey Parker

Have you ever thought about suicide? how does it feel to know that you put these hopes into every queenslander only to let the whole state down. I love Queensland so much, but today thanks to you, I'm embarressed to be a Queenslander, Thanks.

Very disappointing but the roaches were way too good in all aspects of the game.

Nutley and Crocker can hold their heads up high in a well-beaten Maroons outfit.

All is not lost for Qld for the future though with many great young players coming through the ranks.
