The batting at 6 thing is sort of valid although it is hypocritical when Finch was picked from the same position. But Finch is barely FC regardless.

I mean unless you play for an absolutely stacked state side batting at 6 generally won't get you selected as a specialist batsman because you'd be batting higher if you were one of the premier batsmen having to face fresher bowlers and have more responsibility to score runs.

Wade knows this I remember Maxwell complaining about Wade batting himself at 4, years ago ahead of him because he knew it would hurt his chances of getting selected.
