Who do we need to recruit in 2018?

I think it the manager holding back the sigs.

He wants to hold the club to ransom and his position isnt as strong if one or two sign.

If we keep Teddy and Woods and keep cash in the bank for the new coach to spend Im OK with the outcome.

How good would it be to sign Tedesco, replace Woods as captain and offer the 3 of them fair wages and they all have to stay because it's the most they can get .
How good would it be to sign Teddy and Woods to a fair deal and pi$$ the other two imposters off.

Hi guys. I like the Tigers and wish the club well.

This is what I would do and if Ivan Cleary signs, and this is what I think he will do;

Re-sign Woods, Tedesco and Moses. Let Brooks go. Sign an experienced half who wouldn't cost the earth like Brooks would (eg.Robson, Wallace). It relieves pressure and allows Moses to get more experience for two years and who could become a dominant, genuine number 7 after this time.

I would not re-sign 10 of those players listed on your off-contracted list. Ballin, Brooks, Edwards, Grant, Heleta, Hunt, Littlejohn, Lovett, Naiqama, Rankin, and Seumanufagai would go. I hear Nofoaluma has signed for the Eels already.

I would recruit some no-frills and hardened middle forwards who play hard and tough and wouldn't cost silly money on two year deals. By the end of 2018, you are cleared of your commitments to buy some quality players and not have Robbie Farah's wages to worry about. A clear platform for Cleary to work from and from there you will be in a position of strength and be able to use your entire salary cap on players to build around Moses, Tedesco and Woods.

What has happened over many years at the Tigers has been a joke. No more jobs for the boys, no more geographical and political allegiances and infighting, just a focus on the club. It is the only way forward and it will get tougher before it gets better.

It's all well and good to say you're going to release 10 reserve graders but you need to replace them. It's not like we're going to release rankin and sign Jarryd hayne or Edwards and sign cordner.

You need players in your squad to call upon when injuries etc happen, that's what those guys are for.

We have an entire team full of depth players.
As people say over and over, how many of our blokes would get a run anywhere else?

This is the problem. Because these players should be in the lower grades.
Thats why 1sts is f**ked and why our lowers are also getting pumped.

Who do we need to recruit?
We have a fullback, maybe 2 outside backs and 2 or 3 forwards.
We need to recruit the rest......

The closest we ever get to signing decent 1st graders is being "close to signing so & so" !

I won't b opening up another bottle of JW blue label until this rabble put a stop to having siestas @ the 30-35 min mark & start tackling like there lives depended on it.Otherwise they can get f**ked in particular the dickhead millennials @ the scrumbase !!

Captaincy issue is a big one, when you have Woods describing Potter as 'to intense'. Sigh, just hire everyones mate Payten so they can all be friends and continue to be mediocre.

When it comes to Brookes and Moses id take Brookes any day. I just believe has equal skill and speed to Moses but MORE importantly an attitude that seems coachable .. Moses is better than any one that has played the game and i doubt he can be persuaded otherwise.
In saying that Brookes has gone down once again with a hammy injury and he has hardly even run the ball . Thats enough to see a black line through his name for the future , i can see a Jarod Mullen future ahead for him :(

Quote Telecrap.2014

WESTS Tigers halfback Luke Brooks appears to have played his last NRL game of 2014 after straining his hamstring in Thursday night’s loss to Canterbury.

This issue has been ongoing and not going to get better

The problem is macnaz that all that matters is on field performance and I saw some massive mistakes from Brooks the other day. He really bombed a lot of chances. At one point he just had to find the right person to pass it too and we score and he couldn't do that.

He does seem a nice kid. He has a tonne of physical attributes to play the game at this level. I just don't know if he is consistent enough in his game. I'd think about putting Brooks back to reserve grade and get him to work on his game.
