Fien, another GF hero and poor old brownie. Still have a vivid memory of that other storm game not more than a year later that shall not be mentioned.

Just when I thought you couldn't possibly better the stupidity level of your previous post re Gasnier V Widdop you come up with this one an outstanding effort on your part.
Please advise the details to validate your assertion that Gasnier played 5/8?
In respect of Raper (another immortal) he played 5/8 at Newtown and the went to lock when he came to St George so obviously he was a better lock.
Neither I nor anyone else on this forum would have any recall of either Raper or Gasnier at 5/8 but you already know that but still continue with your stupid comparisons.
They played under the unlimited tackle rule which required completely different skill sets to those of today but you choose to ignore that as well.
Now here is the real comparison for you
Old Timer V Sigurd
Old Timer will be able to respond to you in a mostly civilised manner and counter your one sided arguements but I doubt if you will be able to stay calm enough to endure the constant pressure that will apply to your persistent one sided thought process.

Brad Mackay, was gutted when he joined the Western Reds. Happy as a pig in sh!t when he came back for that final year in 99.

According to Wikipedia both Gasnier and Raper had games at 5/8 so the question is legit if you insist on being perfectly strict in regard to the position they played / he plays.
You vs me? Hmmmmm strange question. I guess I win because any criticism of Widdop has you going purple in the face and reaching for the shotgun on top of the cabinet.
So what you are saying is that you can't answer who is better out of Johnny Raper and Gareth Widdop because the game has evolved too much. Interesting.

Gasnier and Raper both immortals in their preferred positions so it is a no brainer that Widdop is not in the same league as a player but neither is anyone else that's why they are immortals so the comparison is flawed and meaningless from the beginning.
If I have no memory of Gasnier and Raper ever playing 5/8 then there is no way I can do a comparison about that either and neither can you so again meaningless.
You seem to think I wince at criticism of Widdop but that just indicates that you have not read my posts re his poor performances this year.
So whilst you continue on with your mindless comparisons to somehow justify your anti Widdop stance and ignore what people have said you will only reinforce your own thoughts in your own head.
