Sonny Fai will be

lol, he must've been young when he was 18th man for the Warriors against Manly in 2005

Warriors don't really have anyone afi cos Russell Packer, who may well get a run, is born in late '89.

Will Greg Waddel have a chance though?

Great young talent. But with Michael Gordon, Geoff Daniela, Michael Jennings, Maurice Blair, Luke Lewis, Luke Rooney, Brad Tighe, Peewee Moke and i guess even Nathan Smith.... he would probably not be likely to be rushed into first grade. Atleast not until the end of the season.

Wade Graham has far less competition and none of his competition has actually earned their jersey yet. So i think he is a reasonable chance. If Joe Williams, Josh McCrone etc. can't perform, it's in our best interest to go to someone with his potential. Kinda like the Roosters with Mitchell Pearce.

Sonny Fai seems to be given a bit of a raw deal. Cleary's likes the mid 20's average Australian first grader types. Cant develop any rookies for SH!T. He's not doing NZ Rugby League any favours with the 1-6-7-9 positions. Or the outside backs for that matter. What's the point of the Warriors if they can't strengthen the kiwis?

A penrith player anyway! They have so many great young talent coming through its unreal!

You're probably right there. By the looks of things they've got some unreal talent. Grand Final Day showed that. But Matt Elliott has a tendency to hold teenagers back a bit. We'll see..he seems to of changed his stance a bit last season.

Not true, firstly, the Kiwis and Warriors are different concepts, much the same as the Roosters and the Eels primary goals are to win a competition rather than to ensure New South Wales is strong for State of Origin. Secondly, the Warriors have a long list of players who have debuted for the club and then represented New Zealand. Thirdly, the Warriors had in their first grade line up this year Evarn Tuimavave, Manu Vatuvei, Sam Rapira, Simon Mannering, Patrick Ah Van, Jerome Ropati, Epalahame Lauaki all of whom are under the age of 23 and all of whom are New Zealand eligible and debutants out of the Warriors, all had significant game time.

There is no argument there is improvement to be done, but that criticism is highly ill informed and wide of the mark. Clearly New Zealand, not just the Warriors, but New Zealand in general, has a lot of work to do to prepare the pathways for young halves in particular to come through. Ideally, Lance Hohaia would be the Warriors #7, but his form just hasn't warranted it, ideally Jerome Ropati would be the five eighth, but sadly, his form hasn't warranted it but gladly a move to the centres has been incredible for him. We tried developing Tevita Latu as our hooker, but unfortunately there were a couple of issues that grew into bigger issues later on for him. It's not as if the club hasn't tried, I would argue they could try harder, but certainly some of the comments that fly around about them are high and wide of the mark and should be qualified as being just that. For the record, next year, the club will field a first grade side, premier league side and the mandatory under 20's side, which is a first for many a year for the club. For the record, not all clubs are having this three tier system. Previously under the Mick Watson regime we operated with just first grade, fed by Bartercard. Slow progressive steps are being taken.

I think Ben Jones from the Roosters will be the first. He was already 18th man this year.

Does shannon macdonnell have a younger brother ?
If he does he'd have to be a shoe in
Lack of ability hasn't stopped shannon macdonnell from playing first grade
Long live nepotism

I understand the difference between the concepts...but I don't give a flying rats ass...IMO the Warriors are there to strengthen the Kiwis. If we're being real about things, this is the main reason they were brought into the NRL...and their inability to achieve this is the main reason guys like Geyer & Vautin have called for them to be cut from the comp. Which rookies has Cleary developed in 07? Corey Laurie? LMAO. Most of the players you mentioned weren't brought into first grade by him either.
