Last year Jack was awesome but it
easily could have gone to JWH (who was told he was the winner) or B-Moz. I mean we can't pretend it is a man of a match award when JT was about 8th best in 2015. Just give it to the best player from the winning team.

In 1991 they needed their decision in 15 minutes before the end so I guess they had made their call and it was to late to change it

The medal has only been awarded to a member of the losing grand final team on four occasions. Bradley Clyde in 1991, Brad Mackay (St George) in 1993, Daly Cherry-Evans (Manly) in 2013, and Jack Wighton (Canberra Raiders) in 2019.

Watched that game from start to finish during lockdown when fox was showing all the classics. Clyde wasn’t even in the top 4 raiders players that day, let alone best on field.

The other robbery that day was the Chris Smith no try. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

I have never understood why they need to pick the Man of the match 20 minutes out, its not that time consuming to engrave a name on a medal. Canberra were hardly specials with 20 to go, Daley was cooked & the game was extremely tight all the way through. Still one of the great Grand Finals.

Clyde was a damn fine player, I'll give him that.
