It takes the gloss off a premiership win just a little. Pre NRL, but as a Panthers fan I was filthy in 91 when it went to Clyde. Clyde to his credit seemed a bit embarrassed to get it. They should have given it to Royce.
It certainly does. We copped shit for booing in 2013 and 2019 but as you say it takes the gloss off the moment somewhat.
In 2013 they at least had some excuse as they (quite ridiculously) voted with 20 to go when they thought manly would win.
Last year Jack was awesome but it
easily could have gone to JWH (who was told he was the winner) or B-Moz. I mean we can't pretend it is a man of a match award when JT was about 8th best in 2015. Just give it to the best player from the winning team.
