Read an interesting comment today, not sure i agree with it, but basically said the longer the lockout goes, the higher the ceiling for Kevin Kolb
due to his experience, coaching and somewhat proven ability at NFL level, he is more valuable because he is more likely to be able to plug in on a short pre season and get instant results

i forget who made the comment but its an article on NFL.com and basically people are suggesting the price could be a 1st, a later round pick and maybe even a useful vet... if philli can even get close to that mark it will be the steal of the decade.

Kolb will be a serviceable QB for a team but he wont ever be in the top echelon imo

Makes sense, that reasoning will apply to any guys with experience, trade worthy guys and free agents.

It's a massive blow, not just the rookies but the 2nd-3rd year guys.

Interesting dilemma for the Broncos as they want to use Orton as trade bait but Tebow will suffer due to the lockout.

The longer the lockout the more likely it will be that Orton stays another season in Denver IMO.

Agreed.
The Eagles are taking advantage of QB needy teams that didn't want to risk anything in the draft.
Kolb has done very little, he's had some glimpses of talent but then who hasn't really?
When he got the chance to show what he was made of, he did pretty average.

Still I see him at Arizona and having a lot of success.

IMO Orton will somehow find his way to Arizona. Whisenhunt likes an accurate pocket passer who can get through his progressions efficiently and effectively. Orton fits that profile of QB. He'll never be a Warner but if he has a good Ol ine and strong running game, Orton can be very effective.

Let's face it, all Arizona need is a solid QB and they'll win their division. I mean the f**ken Seahawks won it last year with a 7-9 record!

Palmer, Orton, Kolb, McNabb any of those and the Cards will win the division.

TBH I see that division as competitive next year.

Ram's will improve even more with better receivers.

49er's will get better under Harbough.

Seahawks IMO will take a step back...I haven't been impressed by their draft.

IMO every other team got better with the draft...this division will be competitive imo.

I see it as the Rams are the teams to beat in the NFC West. Bradfords got a year more experience, receivers to through to, McDaniels at QB coach. All things look good on the Rams front.

49ers I don't see improving too much, they'll still have Alex Smith and they'll be grooming Kaepernick so they don't want to throw him to the wolves yet. Crabtree will complain or have a cry about something. Basically the 49ers is all about Gore, you stop him (which for some reason the Cardinals refuse to do), you stop the 49ers.

The Seahawks were very lucky to get in the playoffs, and like you I agree they'll take a step back.

Depending on who the Cards pick up at QB will determine how they go this year. Honestly I see the Cards having to compete with the Rams for the division. They'll still lose to the 49ers just because they can't stop Frank Gore, but I don't think the 49ers will get a great deal better this year.

This is only my opinion, so be aware that it's heavily influenced by being a Cardinals fan who has some optimism. :p

I was reading that DeSean Jackson is trying to lure his old college mate Namdi Asomuga to the Eagles.
Also heard there's a slight chance Kolb could he traded for Patrick Peterson.

As a rams fan I hope they do. Peterson will be a heck of a corner and Kolb is overrated.

Dont see Orton landing in DC.

Beck is our guy (unfortunately) and we will be moving towards a 3rd place division finish with a QB from next years draft.

I dont see Kolb for Peterson, dumb dumb move for Zona, they arent that stupid

Aso to philli is a move i could see happening though and have since day 1 of the aso saga. I think the FO and AR see Aso as a the best move they can make to be a SB contender.

Id love Peterson, but i just cant see it happening, would adore it if it did though. I know some arent as sold on Peterson but to me he is a better corner prospect than Haden and Haden was pretty good for the browns. But im really dreaming on that one

Aso is gettable.

You would just about cream your pants if the following happened imo:
- Aso signs with Philly.
- Paterson gets traded from Zona to Philly for Kolb & future 2nd.

I can also see Philly reaching out to Tavaris Jackson when he gets cut. IMO he's a capable back up to Vick....and a cheaper alternative to say a Vince Young. T-Jac can learn under Vick and eventually might be a T-Jax to D-Jax combo. lol.

I can see Philly getting someone like a Terrance Tolliver as an undrafted FA and turning him into something special.

They also need help at MLB imo. Stewart Bradley is too injury prone.

not even in my dreams do we get both

Ill take one, prefer Peterson because he's younger and lets us groom someone for post Asante, but in a win now mentatlity, its Aso, we'd instantly become legit SB contenders.

Trouble is Aso's not young and nor is Samuel, we need someone to take their spot... if we got both, much as i love Asante, id like to see us move him on.

Anywho dreams here and nothing of the above will happen, except Kolb will go to Zona for a first and late round pick.
As for QB, i like Kafka but i think he's still a year off Back up duties. VY or Jackson are both guys that are talented and fit a system we're now starting to run with in a heavy way. Both could flurish under our system given their skill set.
VY is a dream but Jackson i think is a move that fits. Vick has limited years left given his style, who ever is the back up will get their chances, Jackson or Young in our system would be good

I dont have great concerns at MLB anymore tbh
Stew is ok but injury prone... I like Chaney, i think he's a really good young talent who will end up our starter by seasons start with Stew moving to the SAM.
and we did just draft Casey Mathews

i think MLB has become a good spot for us. WILL is still an issue, we've got to upgrade Sims somehow, i hope thats something we address via trade or free agency
