Maybe he doesn't want to play in the ESL, many Australian players don't despite the big money offers. Things like friends and family are important (if you doubt that then you doubt the evidence presented by the NZ Warriors players who return to NZ a few weeks back due to home sickness).

Additionally, a player may not fit into the system at another club. I mean have a look at how successful things have been for RTS since he took the bigger money offer to play at the Warriors. He's been covered in finals glory there eh?

The only people who won’t care about this year, are the fans of the 15 teams that don’t win it...

Like Knights winning ARL in 97, its nice for the fans but its not really a premiership is it. This year will feel the same (unless Storm win then I'm claiming it as our best one yet in the face of all the adversity we've had )

If you are going to go on a roosters salary cap rant, at least provide a breakdown a completely made up breakdown of what each player is being paid.

I've gone over that squad a number of times, and the only way is that the top players are accepting hundreds of thousands less per year there is no way they fit.....( even with the younger guys outside the starting 17 on minimum wage or not much above )

over the course of their contract some would have to be forfeiting anywhere up to 300K to 1/2 million less.....all for love I guess.

Souths are most likely imo. A 6 again or penalty they always seem to find at a key time. Not playing well at all but if they can lift to say bulldogs level then they win the comp easily
