Benny you are spot on mate . They need someone from outside this club someone that will stand up to Doust Young ......

Mary would have to basically do a Parramatta of 2009 to be considered for next year, seems Benjie has thrown his 2 cents worth, which carries a lot more weight, 1.1 million of it!

I almost dont care if he gets us into the 8 this year. For me, his appointment is symbolic of everything that is wrong with the club. He has no credentials, had an average couple of years coaching park football, and by all reports he went out of his way to undermine Price and come close to stabbing him in the back to get the job. He is where he is due to a relationship with Doust and the board, no other reason.

I can handle him as a caretaker coach because its difficult to find someone to come in mid-season. But giving him the fulltime gig next year would be an insult to the fans.

I dont want him coaching either and I know he only coached in the Illawarra Comp but : Wests Illawarra 3 straight premierships would make his average 100% by my sums. 2009 2010 2011. I'd take that average.

We need a coach from outside the enclave in my opinion.

Was referring to his 2 years at the helm of the Cutters. Didnt realise hed done well in Illawarea comp, but that doesnt carry much weight for mine anyway.

Just got a phone call, the club is still hoping that Bennett will take over next season, there you go.

If Bennett returned, just imagin the team the Dragons could field next year:

1. Boyd
2. Morris
3. Dugan
4. Beale
5. Nightingale
6. Widdop
7. Marshall
8. Cooper
9. Garvey
10. Kasiano
11. Sims
12. Frizell
13. Merrin

14. Stockwell
15. De Belin
16. Wicks
17. Creagh

With Bennett on board and only 4 new recruits, we are on our way to greatness once more.

Has to be the best backline in the competition and the forwards would more than hold their own against any pack.

Sheens would be a great fit for the team. I would love if Saints chose him over all other coaches mentioned. He has been around for a while.

If it was either Bennett of Sheens we should not be too disappointed whoever they chose of the 2. Both will make huge improvements to the team that is for sure.

If Sheens was a serious option why not bring him in ASAP. Not as if he is tied to any club atm. McGregor can be his assistant.

Could Sheens be the First Coach to win Premierships at 3 different clubs and beat Creeping to it!

THERE is one man who knows how to get the most out of Benji Marshall.

His name is Tim Sheens.

And a reunion could be on the cards with Marshall on Wednesday recommending his former Wests Tigers coach for the top job at St George Illawarra should current caretaker Paul McGregor be overlooked.

Sheens, who spent nine years as Marshall’s mentor, is being considered for the role along with Neil Henry, Tony Smith, Trent Barrett, and Wayne Bennett.

Thoughts? :?

It's not what benji said. He was asked the question, this is a nothing story. Tony smith is out of the running.
It will be between Wayne Bennett, Mary or Laurie Daley.

In my opinion.

I think Henry is on the nose as well.

If Sheens could get some good out of Benji, imagine what a long stint with Bennett would do? In a short stint, Benji led NZ to the RLWC.

Sheens couldn't coach himself out of a wet paper bag.

At his time at Wests his game plan was "give the ball to Benji and make me look good"
