This poll shows a close contest between Bennett and Henry however, I feel it will be between Sheens and Henry.

As much as I would love it to be the case, I'm afraid that Bennett is unlikely to come back to the Dragons.

Why not make a play for Mick Potter look what he's done with the tigers, willing to give young players a go and guttsy enough to get rid of old baggage and is off contract for next year and a dragons legend, all pluses

Ive always assumed he would have no interest in going back to the Red V, he could never top 2009-2011.. but if the Broncs dont want him.. then just maybe.. anyway wouldnt this be fantastic news.. he would definitely be the mongrel we need (Source: Lurker):

Back in the Dragons’ Den

Don’t be surprised to see Wayne Bennett make a shock return to the Dragons in 2015. With Bennett's future at the Knights looking uncertain in the wake of the collapse of Nathan Tinkler's ownership of the club, Bennett is assessing his options. I am hearing that high-ranking Broncos officials have now decided getting back Bennett, who brought the club into the NRL back in 1988, is not the answer. But the Dragons are a different story. The club won the premiership under the master coach in 2010 but has been on a downhill spiral ever since.

Bennett remains a revered figure at Kogarah and Wollongong and fans, players and officials would welcome him back with open arms in 2015.

Bennett also has a strong relationship with Benji Marshall after working with the struggling Kiwi at World Cup level and could be the one man to get some value out of the former Tigers star. Paul McGregor, who inherited the reins from sacked coach Steve price two weeks ago, is seen only as a stop-gap measure and doesn't have the experience to sort out the mess that the Dragons have become.

I just hope that Mc Gregor as a caretaker coach is just that, a caretaker until a real coach gets appointed for heavens sakes.

My gut feeling Bennett will return to reunite with Benji, I also think creeping is at an age where security in getting paid is important to him, he knows that wont be an issue at a club where us fans are grateful for the 3 years of success..this belief of winning premierships at 3 different clubs is crap.

Vincent Thomas "Vince" Lombardi (June 11, 1913 – September 3, 1970) was an American football player, coach, and executive. He is best known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers during the 1960s, where he led the team to three straight and five total National Football League championships in seven years, including winning the first two Super Bowls following the 1966 and 1967 NFL seasons. Lombardi is considered by many to be one of the best and most successful coaches in NFL history.[1] The National Football League's Super Bowl trophy is named in his honor. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

47% is excellent considering the Cowboys never win away from home. That meant he would be at 50% at best. Given that you are not going to get a home semi with a 50% ratio and you will play all of them away from home, his stats keep getting better and better. He pretty much has a perfect coaching record when you take out the results away from home.

That is some genius logic right there. Statistics are FACT. What you are talking about is hypothetical. If he was such a great coach a. Why could he not get what was a good cowboys team to win away? and b. Why would a club sack a great coach?

lol I take you're point but it's a stretch. The Cowboys and Warriors have both made the GF so they must win some games away from home. I really don't think that can be used as an excuse as Melb and Bronco's have managed just fine over the years. If anything its a negative as he should be overcome that obsticle as the 2 clubs I just mentioned have

Sorry Lads, I fixed it for you.

On a serious note, Henry did take a team to the semis twice in his last two years at the Cowboys only to get ripped off with some dodgy refs decisions. I don't think it is any coincidence that he was in the Queensland coaching box with Big Mal over the past decade as well.

Henry is a popular choice to be the Dragons head coach for 2015 and beyond. This poll has Henry only behind one of the greatest coaches of all time, Wayne Bennett. However, Bennett is rumoured to moving to the Broncos taking up a Director of Coaching position and Henry seems likely to become head coach of the Titans for season 2015.

So who is left?

Sheens - has recently met with Dragons officials and in with a good chance
B Smith - seems to be on the outer and not in the race
T Smith - a popular choice by forum members
McGregor - has the advantage/disadvantage of being interim coach
Taylor - seems to also be on the outer
Bellamy - has declared he will retire from coaching
Daley - is in with a chance if NSW beat Qld in SOO game 2

This guy. If not Wayne Bennett, Bellamy or Hasler, then this guy should be next cab off the rank.

Shaun Wane seems promising with his wiki profile.
I personally believe anyone who has won a ESL premiership should be given a go, more so than rookie assistance like Nathan Brown and Muppet.

Have a look on the ESL forum as well. He is highly regarded in the ESL and is considered one of the best coaches over there currently. Also have a look at some of his post match conferences and you will see he is a no bullshit sort of guy and tells it straight. He has been great at blooding some of the Wigan juniors through into the senior ranks and the Warriors play a tough, high paced brand of footy. He is the guy we should be chasing hard after and perhaps he can bring a few of the more talented pigs over with him. Cooper has been great for us so far.

So Tony Smith has now dropped out of contention.

http://www.sportinglife.com/rugby-league/news/article/480/9344626/super-league-tony-smith-signs-new-deal-with-warrington-richard-agar-to-join-wolves

In my opinion this leaves the following candidates in the race:

Sheens - rumoured to have met with the Club and in the mix
Henry - rumoured to be the next Gold Coast head coach
B Smith - said to be acting as a consultant right now
Daley - if he wins SOO game 2, he'll be in with a chance
McGregor - one of hte boys

Hey possm why is Brian Smith in your list?

I consider Brian Smith to be a good re-building coach over a two year contract. Right now he is acting as a consultant but I'm sure he has put his hat in the ring and would be delighted to be our head coach.

If Henry is getting the Gold Coast gigg and Bennett is returning to Brisbane, then in my opinion we have the following candidates left in the race:

Sheens
Smith
Daley
McGregor

Who would you choose out of the above 4?

1. Brian Smith if available
2. Neil Henry
3. Nathan Brown if he wins it with St Helens
4. Shaun Wane since he has already won it with wigan
5. Tim Sheen My last option
6. No Too Daley- unless he goes to the ESL and does his apprenticeship and succeeds.
7. No Too Mary- unless he goes to the ESL and does his apprenticeship and succeeds

Rather the club folded.

Smith would not only re-build the squad but develope the coaches like he did at Parra e.g Jason Taylor. Hornby and Dean Young would gain alot of knowledge having this bloke as part of the squad.
