East Coast.Hey Grotd what could they call themselves to gain support from both Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay? Is it even possible?

That unfortunately includes the areas of Cairns to Byron Bay to Shellharbour to Cape Howe, but yes its better that "THE" and if we knew who the 18th team was, maybe that makes sence if its West Coast Pirates to verse East Coast Dolphins...East Coast.
whhaaaaIt is a dumb decision that is quite rightly getting the negative commentary it deserves. Like colk says it’s an over reaction to the problem of them being based on an outer suburban club when they need to appeal to the whoLe of brisbane.
but it wouldn’t be rl without a bit of drama would it lol.

Personally id rather Sunshine State Dolphins.
But at the moment anything will do
sunshine state isn't much less ambivalent then east coastThat unfortunately includes the areas of Cairns to Byron Bay to Shellharbour to Cape Howe, but yes its better that "THE" and if we knew who the 18th team was, maybe that makes sence if its West Coast Pirates to verse East Coast Dolphins...

so what is it, a team that represents Moreton Bay regional council or the body of water and islands off Brisbane and maybe Redlands area?People in SEQ are very familiar with Moreton Bay and its islands. Many people go to these islands on the weekend, especially North Stradbroke Island. If the club markets itself as a club representing the stretch of land adjacent to Moreton Bay then it could develop a following from Redlands to Moreton Bay Regional Council. The problem is Sunshine Coast isn't adjacent to Moreton Bay, so they would be alienating 300k people if they went with the name Moreton Bay Dolphins.
Sunshine BayHey Grotd what could they call themselves to gain support from both Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay? Is it even possible?
Try telling Gerald Ratner that!something about ... any publicity being a good thing really
Why not both?so what is it, a team that represents Moreton Bay regional council or the body of water and islands off Brisbane and maybe Redlands area?

Very long name... I'd prefer the sunshine state dolphins or even Northern state DolphinsQuandamooka Dolphins
Or
Maroochydore Dolphins
Or
Maroochydore-Redcliffe Dolphins
Explanation....
Quandamooka being the indigenous name for the region. Being so unique a name it stands out. Names like North Coast, East Coast, North Brisbane, Upper Brisbane, Sunshine State, etc are too generic/broad.
Another possibility is if the future of the club is to represent the fast-growing Sunshine Coast region, and not Moreton Bay/Redcliffe where they traditionally exist, then make a stance to identify with that region, build a stadium there, not Redcliffe....just have your HQ and training facility in Moreton Bay where the club still connects with the state league Redcliffe Dolphins.
Could name it Maroochydore Dolphins simply because that name sounds so nice and is in SC. Like a catch-all town name that can be famous (already famous). Like say San Francisco 49ers....even tho they've long moved away from there, a famous name can be used still. Or could use the indigenous name for SC ... Kabi Kabi Dolphins....which doesn't sound as good.
Like imo Roosters would be better off being called Bondi Roosters than Sydney Roosters. Famousness of a region name.
It is a tricky one for sure. Club needs to rep MB and SC but somehow also take some Brisbane fans too...or not, just focus on MB/SC. Cant stay with Redcliffe? Who cares if that name stays really? Why is it so ill-advised? Hate those generic names like Nth Qld, West Coast, etc. Pick a unique but famous city/town/region name. Bondi, San Francisco, Maroochydore, Redcliffe, Essendon, etc. They have a ring to them.Very long name... I'd prefer the sunshine state dolphins or even Northern state Dolphins
