A man with no head coach experience.

Interesting times. We will now have a man on a very steep learning curve at the helm.

I suggest everyone pray to your chosen sky daddy who ever he may be.

Wane from SL appeared the most credentialed.

Hopefully his first order of business is to rid the club of certain dressing room cancer's...

I’m pleased that it looks like we have O’Brien. He’s a better choice than any of the failed ex-coaches who are hanging around scavenging for a job and I’d be willing to guess that he’ll be better than a lot of the current coaches as well.

I never want to hear the word rebuild uttered at this club ever again. I’m so sick of being told that success is 3-5 years away and seeing other clubs turn their fortunes around almost overnight in some cases. Given O’Brien has spent so much time around Bellamy & Robinson I hope that he demands success from his players from day one. No excuses now. We have a roster that should play finals football so I want to see him demand that of his players.

If he wants to rebuild he can though, but in one year not four.

Only 12 players signed past the end of 2020.

Three are pretty handy (KP, Pearce, Klem).
Three I think will be at least solid in the right environment (Glasby, Fitz, Lee).
Four kids (Toa, Hoy, Best, Crossland).
And two who I would be telling to look elsewhere, but hopefully aren't on big $$$ and can provide depth (Mann, Sione).

Good environment next year with plenty of blokes playing for a new deal.

I thought we couldn't put all our money into one lad because we need 30 man roster?

If we drop 6-7 guys don't we need to sign 6-7 guys?

You do mate but if you ditch Watson (500k), Guerra (500k) and Moga (400k) you can replace them with good player x (1m) cheap player y (200k) and cheap player z (200k).

Wasnt Furner supposed to be O'Briens assistant?

Not sure how you consider someone for head coach you already consider an assistant coach to another candidate.

As if at ain't Windscreens.

Blah, blah, Gold Coast, interviewing, blah , blah.

Next minute, Hollbrook.

FMD, pretend away managers like you have not made this decision weeks ago.

I only hope this is another Gardner damage control attempt and these new candidates are window dressing.

Oh look I'm actually running a competitive selection process and didn't decide on the new coach weeks ago without consulting anyone.

Furner didn’t exactly achieve at Canberra.
Also got sacked from Leeds. Pretty sure it's just an attempt at back tracking after they got called out about meeting with Furner for an assistant role when they claim they haven't decided on a coach yet

Baz just replied that O'Brien/Furner combo still most likely. Reading between the lines, I'd say they're interviewing for assistants and yeah, showing that off as the interview process for the head coach role.

What's sad is that we're all sitting around HOPING the club is bullshitting us at this point. Grim.
