In no particular order

- No actual halves in the entire club
- Average hooker who tries hard, a worse Mitch Kenny
- Dud coach
- Ponga down on form after opening the season with 2x MOM
- Packed to the brim full of plodders while some of our better/less plod players are out injured - Cant, Jones etc aren't first grade standard. Missing Lucas, JSaf, Elliot in that order
- No leadership
- Our "leaders" have probably gone on a year too long - Friz, Gagai
- Any decent juniors are a long way off
- Serious cap mismanagement - some assumed/consistently reported salaries - Hastings 800k (not being re-signed) to play NSW cup, Will Pryce 400k (gone), Brailey 600k (leaving), KPP 700k (looks like Tarzan plays like Jane), Hetherington 550k? (all potential, 0 brain) are the worst offenders for value. 200k still going to DSaf. The only defence here is we're always at a disadvantage to most clubs so we do have to take gambles and overpay.

We’ve been very poorly managed since inception. If it wasn’t for a golden generation of players in the late 90s that won in spite of the incompetent management rather than because of it we never would have won anything.

The issues with the current squad/coaching have already been well summarised but another issue is that the side tends to get it together late in the year and fall into finals which paints over a lot of the issues. Thankfully that’s not looking like happening this year.

At the end of the day we probably have the worst squad in the league. AOB is also trying to coach for the side he wants not the side he has. I don’t hate him because I think he’s probably gotten more out of this squad than a lot of coaches could, but at the end of the day how he wants to coach isn’t compatible with the players he has.

Newcastle won’t let him play Origin . He’s probably only a couple of head knocks away from medical retirement(unfortunately). The lack of depth at most clubs when injuries and suspensions kick in is a major issue and Newcastle probably have less depth than most.
