Realistically does any red blooded Rooster fan give a toss what others think?

Not in the f**king slightest!!!

In fact, I love that they hate us. When they feel sorry for us, then it's time to follow carpet bowls!

Chook.

You need to slow down on the recreational drugs man. You're having delusions of adequacy!

Well let's check this out. Approximate salaries, and fairly conservative estimates.

1. Minichiello $200
2. Walker $150
3. Hodges $200
4. Wing $200
5. Hegarty $150
6. Fittler $500-600
7. Finch $175

13. Ricketson $250
12. Flannery $150
11. Fitzgibbon $250
10. Cayless $225
9. Crocker $180
8. Morley $300

That's the best part of $2.93 million (taking Fittler at $500), and we have to add in your bench.

4 NRL players for $250 grand?! At Souths maybe.

That fills in 17 of your top 25 contracted players - who constitute the makeup of your salary cap.

So again, I'll ask as everyone else in the League world outside of the Roosters fraternity continually asks, how are you getting away with it?

Oh hang on. That's right. The Packers are major shareholders in the Roosters. The same Packers who own PBL, who is a 50% owner of the NRL.

Surely you can see the conflict of interest to Kerry and son if news were to break of his team's failing to abide by the rules.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we pick on you.

Goodnight.

Fittler $500-$600K. You are kidding right?

No, I'm not.
His previous contract was $800.
Do you seriously believe he took that sizeable a paycut?

As much as I hate the roosters, I'm so damn sick of fools trying to state this lame crap as fact. The roosters are not over the cap. Simple as that. The Broncos have proved that players WANT to play in a quality team with a professional coach and attitude. I've got no doubt in my mind that players like Lockyer and Tate etc. could be making at least an extra hundred grand a year somewhere else, but they choose not to. Same goes for so many roosters players. So many of your players could go to Souths or Manly and earn more cash but the DON'T WANT TO!!

Success breeds hate rooster fans! Don't worry - you do get used to it after a while. God knows I have!

Roosters I do still hate you. I can't stand Freddy, sticky or the arrogant goose Gus. But I still respect your team, because it's full of quality players and a professional attitude to the game. There's a big difference between like and respect, something a lot of people here don't know!

The most successful team is always the most hated; in the early and late 90's it was Brisbane who copped all the flak about being "over the cap", and having "too much influence". Then between 1995-1997 it was Manly who faced the same charges.

Football fans acusing the best team of cheating is exactly the same as punters who can't back a winner insisting that all horse racing is fixed. It's as natural as night following day.

You also have to remember that most LU forum members are aged around 16 or 17, and don't really know what they're talking about. Others -- Shireshark is a good example -- are older but come from the Sutherland shire, where they worship John Howard and George Bush. The conclusions one draws from that ought to be reasonably straight forward ...

there was a thread rleague that accused the broncos of being over the cap, broncos fans went bezerk [as broncos fans usually do when their beloved, team, coach or ceo are criticized] and guess what? the thread was closed down. like hell if i'm posting there again. if broncos fans have that much sway

Why are you always picked on?

Because when we try to have discussions with you, you always try to shut us down with out really listening to what we are saying. Its never really a two way conversation. You ask why people are picking on you, people respond and you reply with nasty comments. Why do you bother asking when you aren't going to listen and consider what people want to say?

I personally dont think the roosters are over the cap. They've been investigated so many times I doubt they are. However, going back to yesterday in the NRL board with the salary cap thing, some Roosters fans fail to understand other peoples opinions on why the cap should stay in place. If we say it creates a level playing field, you say its unfair for the clubs higher on the ladder. If we say everyone should have the same amount of money, you say you need more because your in the Eastern suburbs. It would be ok if we could discuss it with you, but you nearly ALWAYS turn it into an argument. There are a few decent roosters supporters who express their opinion and listen to other peoples opinions in a decent discussion but unfortunately thats not the case with a lot of you.

A lot (not all but a lot) of the roosters fans on these forums bring it on themselves

trouble is that as a "main player" in the NRL at present - we are going to cop abuse. But the trouble is that most of it is just repeated by many people. To be honest i am sick of the idiots who can't come up with an original arguement so i just now ignore them..

However, I didn't see you arguement but I would suggest to you that most Rooster fans shouldn't be tainted by a few.

I have no truck with supporters from other clubs - unless they are again giving us the same old line...but that doesn't reflect on their club just themselves.

Also remember - "everyone is entitled to an opinion" even if you don't like it

Jen,

Look at the NRL forum, doesn't look like Roosters detractors are being held back from putting unsubstantiated opinion, the Moderators here at LU (for the NRL room) are certainly "tolerant" of this behaviour.

People like Melon aren't shutting them down either, they're just returning serve. It's not constructive but I doubt that's the original intention of the combatants in any case.

Jen,

Dont make the stupid mistake of believing Easts want to scrap the cap. They may want concessions, but show me where we have said we want it scrapped. Now explain why people are assuming as much. And while your at it show me some proof that we are cheating the cap....every other supporter is coming out and saying it. Dont be the same. What they have to say isnt an opinion, its drivel.

Give me an opinion worth noting and understanding and I will note it and understand you. All the NRL forum offers is sh!te. And as such I for one treat it that way.
