Why don’t teams punch on more often?

One player never gets sin binned, both always go. Mark Gasnier is a deadshit but he had a point, get a bench forward to punch the opposition halfback, you’ll lose them both for 10 minutes.

Not a bad tactic. Especially if you train that way from the Monday.
Train and game plan for 12 on 12.

Great non-answer. Send offs should be judged on effective force of the impact not what body part is used.

There isn’t an answer to give. The headbutt has always been treated with more weight and gravity then a punch that does a comparable amount of damage. You either get that or you don’t.

Right there you've actually made my point though, "always been treated" but not for any logical or factual reason. It's solely because someone at some point held on to the outdated notion that punches are somehow cleaner and less damaging than all other forms of striking.

That's a bad way to do things. Essentially a mild touching of the foreheads is worse than a punch to the temple, which is entirely incorrect.

Cool. Maybe write a letter to the NRL or call Alan Jones or something?

Also, I am not saying that a king hit to the temple can't result in a send off.

I'm just saying that using your head is a no-no

What Dsaf should have done, is take the headbutt, then hit the deck like a sack of spuds, get your soccer player acting skills on and roll around a bit holding your head. Go off for HIA immediately, whilst the rest of the Mele is happening.

Ref would have sent that cat tom off immediately. But instead, as is usual with the NRL, the refs get it wrong, 10 in the bin for a headbutt is a joke.

Sam's king hit should've been a send off and ban. Tom and Saifiti getting 10 is fine.

Headbutting is only deemed dirty because of how it has been looked upon in boxing. It's no different to punching outside of the ring, except maybe dumber.
