Why don't the refs send off anymore?

At the time I thought it was a send off, but the tackle itself was great just the swinging arm and Browne falling down made it look worse.

Fell into it. Imagine the howling from dogs fans if one of their players was marched for such a tackle.

Yeah that was never gonna be a send off.
Also the score was 31-6, Canterbury had spent the better part of 10 minutes within the opposition 20 earlier in the piece and came away with nothing.
They had their chances.

See the same thing dozens of times a weekend. Penalty, on report, will do some time.
Next.

If Browne wasn't knocked out, no one would be talking about it. There are plenty of similar hits like this that get brushed away because the victim wasn't knocked out.

I was watching closely and just thought a bottle had been thrown from a Dogs fan hitting him on the head and Frizzel was just trying to protect him. I guess it was an easy mistake to make with Dog fans at games.

Stop being silly. He'll accept the guilty plea and Tyson will be running out against the 'Quiet Man's' Broncos on Friday night.

I'm not sure there was intent there though

Intent is not an absolute must in the criteria of a send off, as Gus Gould says

"I would find it amazing if he stays on the field and this is nothing against Tyson Frizell," Gould said before a decision was made.

"There is a small margin of error where the first man goes in low and and a man comes in over the top like that.

"You can do it and not mean to do it but if you don't get sent off for that what do you get sent off for?"

The channel nine team like to stir bullshit whenever they can. Sending a player off is a big deal as you are essentially killing off an even contest. The ref made the right call today to keep him on and let the judiciary decide.

Sendoffs are meant for intentional or reckless play. The Frizell one was an accident.

The problem is there is no sin bin for a high shot.
And Gould is wrong. You have to be certain he was aiming solely to make contact with the head for a send off.

What about Isaac Luke last week with the knee to the back of the head. Same result. Concussed. No thoughts of a send off there. You just couldn't say that was deliberate either.

I'm guessing he'll get 2-3 weeks.

Watching Fox Sports news headlines & they said Des defended the ref for not sending him off.

Nearly choked on my chips.

Des is a changed (guilty) man after last week.
