Fordham did speak about more content in SEQ.

I suppose you'll take that to mean he wants Magic Round in Perth?

Just answer the f**ken question. The more you dodge the dumber and more desperate you come across.
no, you're not following the argument... "we think there is room" isn't banging down the door for another QLD/Brisbane team you muppet. You keep using this one single quote as proof the broadcasters want Brisbane 3 next.

Yeh that’s how they built up 170 million in net assets since covid whilst your beloved afl is hocked to the gills
Now what are you taking about? lol

Pre covid the NRl had $135mill net assets
last year they had $193mill net assets. So a $58mill increase.
At the same time slashing $42mill out of grassroots funding
hmmmmmm

(In that same period AFL went from $238mill to $314mill net assets, an increase of $76mill, whilst increasing grass roots spending. Hmmmm)

You now as well as I do that the real value increase in the next deal will come from primarily the ninth game to sell and most importantly competitive tension. Location of the clubs actually doesnt make a lot of difference as AFL has shown with its windfall despite bringing in GWS and Suns.

That 9th game will bring in more with a larger audience on offer. Ive seen nothing from the NRL to suggest that they will go the GWS/Gold Coast route with a new team, and that means probably no Perth for a while.

Perth doesnt add anything audience or commercial wise that Brisbane cant do better, and PNG has massive FedGov support - which if contractually embedded will go nicely long enough to bed the team down permanently.

The reason the nrl is investing in assets it’s awash with cash

this is after record salary cap and grants to clubs

all these arguments are stupid

tv networks have said what they want it isn’t Perth

Didnt happen for AFL. They brought in two very poorly supported clubs and on back of that increased tv deals twice in a row, latest one massively.

Maybe, maybe not. Im not expecting a Perth team, RL has shown time and again its lack of long term stategic desire to grow the game beyond its heartlands. Why we are still stuck in a few isolated outposts of the world.

Itd be so RL to bring in Brisbane 3 and CC bears next lol

doesnt change the fact what you posted was BS lol

Yes Its upped its net asset base, at the cost of grassroots funding, but not as much as AFL has done. Those be the facts

The AFL isnt investing as much...because it did already when it bought Docklands in 2016 - a debt that will be all but gone over the last financial year. And is still "awash with cash".

Nah it’s because of increased revenue via manny sources

it’s why nrl clubs get funded at a higher percentage over the cap than afl clubs do

anyway how does this affect tv companies not wanting a Perth team

You cant say that it didnt happen for the AFL because they bought in two very poorly supported clubs and didnt have a catchement area like Brisbane waiting for a new team - they could have gone for WA3

Rugby league professionally still far more widespread around the world than the AFL, despite the AFL changing strategic desires.

Not really, asset base went up $58mill, grassroots funding went down $42mill. I wonder where the money came from to build the assets up? Hmmmmm

They could have, but they didnt, and still landed significantly increased Tv deals.

True but at least they've tried to grow nationally which is a start!

The cap went up 3 million
Grants to clubs went up 2 million on top of that
And they added a new team
85 million in extra spending and still made a large surplus

beibane easts will also be valuable bc it increases the value of the gambero hotel in Brisbane

sounds a a totally logical reason to expand with another Brisabne club lol.
Maybe we should add a second club playing out of shark park as well?

Whilst slashing grassroots funding.
