I wonder if Foran and woods have get out clauses? I'm 100% under the impression the nut cases signed with the intention of playing under des and now that won't happen

Anyways for now let's lol@sharon woods

Triple M said this morning neither have get out clauses but honestly why would they use them if they did? No other club will pay near what the dogs are paying them.

Ouch

When they first signed Foran I thought it was a brilliant signing. But his form at the warriors lately made me think otherwise. Hammies like a 70 year old and with Des gone he'll probably go off the rails again

Woods will probably be ok but will bitch and complain and say he's the only forwarD doing any work. Graham and Kasino were their best forwards and they let them go

No get out clauses, but neither contract has been registered by the NRL yet because of the Doggies cap problems. Apparently Dogs still have to release at least one more well paid player to be able to fit Foran and Sharon into the cap. If that doesn't happen, those two could find themselves without clubs in 2018. That's also a problem the new Dogs coach will have to deal with - flicking one or more players to fit in two highly paid new signings that were part of Des Hassler's plans but perhaps not of the new coach. So still a lot of problems of their own making to be solved by the dogs.

It really does haha. So glad we aren't dealing with it anymore

Des had this coming anyway. He's tried to keep the same dogs side that limped into the grand final in 14 and they basically just haven't clicked since. With the side he had they were just never going to compete for the premiership

They're still trying to offload the Morris twins I believe, basically an entire clean out of veteran players

Maybe we could use them for 1-2 seasons?

When is the fire sale coming? I'm hoping that some key Bulldogs players now want out that Dez is gone and we have our good mate Josh Reynolds convince them to come over to Tigers.

I'd take either of the Morris twins for a year. The experience would do wonders for our young players but add a level head amongst our outside backs

Bulldogs are the new Tigers, i.e. the club the media hyenas are now feasting on. They've well and truly moved on from us.

Don't rule out a backflip.

Dogs have had an informal chat with Todd Carney allegedly.

I am not suggesting we go after Carney but I reckon he will be a good buy for some club. He has been a total goose all his career but like many footballers that have one last in the game chance they knuckle down and try to be remembered for what there last game was like, not the first. Willie Mason is a good example. He played really good football in his last few years after being given a 'last chance' in the NRL.

Back to Carney, there is no doubting his ability, he was a Dally M winner not that long ago. He knows he'd be on a very strict and probably limited money contract so he'd be attractive to some club. I think Benji is like Carney in that we can play him in several positions and had we not signed Benji I'd have thought Carney would be worth the risk at the right price.
