I have been high on the team all season and even had us in the Top 4 after high single digit games. But after draw with Cows and (particularly) loss to Knights I think it is too high.

But I have no issue with 5th. Win in Sydney week one, travel to NZ for week 2.

Its unlikely.

But at least less unlikely than it was 4 weeks ago. Its only one spot up for grabs I do believe Melbourne will make it. Raiders are almost certain with 2 byes in hand.

Dogs missing the 4 would be a spectacular collapse. Though I'd love it to happen.

4th can be a poison chalice. Id rather come 5th and stomp on a team that snuck into the 8 then come 4th and lose a tight one against the minor premiers in their backyard. You're back to square 1 in both cases but the contexts are very different.

Dogs another loss. They need to do some soul searching after that capitulation.

Broncos have had a similar year to Penrith. They really should be top 4 already and a very late to the party.

Storm/Warriors on 10 wins. Its really those two teams who could potentially miss the 4. Dogs are on 11 wins and if they fell out of the 4 it would end their season for sure.

Game tonight Storm in Townsville looks a crucial one. I'd be surprised if they lose that with Hughes and Papenhuyzen playing though.

What kind of toll will this 2025 Origin series have on our chances at club level? Overall I think we will be fine.

To'o is the obvious concern. Busted his guts but his speed isn't there. Finishing tries against 5 defenders used to be breakfast for him. With Alamoti available I wouldn't play To'o.

Edwards was reliable but looks to have lost some pace too. I'm not sure when we can rest him but I think he may need it. His workload like Brian's is just massive.

Cleary, Yeo and Martin will be fine IMO. Martin might miss Sunday with his wrist/hand injury. Otherwise nothing serious so overall we have come out of Origin alright.

Well Liam is a straight up liability at this point. Hed be the first I'd ship the Perth

Liability is extreme. He does his job for Penrith just fine. What we should be caring about is whether he shows up in the big matches later this year and I think he will.

Pears aren't on our radar right now. We have a comp to win.

It’s hard to tell who will back up, I’d expect given the disappointment of tonight our players who were involved would want to back up against the Eels and get it out there system. That’s what champion players do. Whether Ivan picks them is another question.

i dont think big game Martin is showing up this year - he looked average in Origin and has looked average most of the season so far for Penrith.

he needs a rest, but he needs to go back to the bench and come on for a bit of impact. yes he can play 80, but is it really 80 minutes of quality?

I thought Dylan Edwards was great to be honest. Output huge as usual and bankable under the high ball. If you picked Dylan Edwards for red zone attack then you haven't watched him play enough.

Tedesco or Paps might create points. But they would have made errors and put us under more pressure as well. There is a reason why they were overlooked.

This is what it all comes back to. We removed guys like that from the team so that Cleary can run the show. For whatever reason Cleary didn't do that last night.

Put it down to coaching, injury, lack of rapport (Hard to believe) it doesn't matter. He had his worst performance in a rep jumper and it would be burning him right now. He is a real competitor so I hope he bottles the feeling and it keeps him motivated for our finals run.

All that aside the game was over at halftime anyway. Insipid defence and effort was the difference in the end.

Have to wait and see I guess. He has done it every other year and 2025 has been a strange one for Penrith.

We have any news on his hand/wrist? I've read he played 63 minutes but after he got it strapped I don't even remember him being on the field from that point.

Paps meh - just have doubts he could be effective - suppose they could finally see what Tom T can do

Teddy is a backwards move - he doesnt pass to critta if he's playing - he always goes himself
