If any club should be nervous Red Dragon, it is yours. Financially they are on the slide big time. They are not viable as a sponsor to any financial institutions what soever because of the name. So there is about 100 of Australia top companies & companies owned by those entities out of the running straight away.
In case you don't get it, it's like this, can you ever picture the Westpac STgeorge Dragons?
Sort of like the Hot Tuna Dolphins you see. Very ugly in the eyes of the public.
You then also have the ageing infastructure. The club is a 70's joke. They should have held the Starsky & Hutch premiere there.
Your bank balance is under pressure now the joint venture funds are finished with & you cannot attract finance because you own very little of value. Although a few smart developers haf offered to reconstruct the leagues club down in Illawarra in exchange for the land your current abortion sits on.
Also the local community is changing its shape at a rapid pace in your electorate. Asian families are the majority of real estate pruchasers in the area now & they couldn't give a f**k about league. They might look up when they see Melbourne play & they hear the name Chan. But thats it.
& now the biggy, the StGeorge BankMajor Sponsor!
This bank will be taken over in the next two years, more than likely by the ANZ or West Pac. The brand will be then killed off, deliberately.
So bye bye major sponsorship.
so how does it sit.
Over the next few years, the joint venture club will be weakened by one partner who is becoming increasinly less liquid through falling fan numbers, ageing infrastructure & no viable long term major sponsors.
The wheel turns Mr dragon & you've had your turn through the 60's. Time to feed at the bottom for a few decades now for you guys. Very grim unless the Steelers start taking more of a role & cash in on their growth area as opposed to the slums where you come from.

You reasure yourself whatever you want to think. Just another Sharks fan hopeful that one day the Sharks will be better than the Dragons.
The Dragons wouldnt of signed a 4 year deal if they knew it was going to get taken over now would it? No. Even if the Bank did get taken over, the new owners would be forced to pay out the rest of the contract that they signed or stay on. So there is your major point gooooorne.
And this Westpac St. George Dragons crap you pulled is even more funny.
You said so yourself that a name like the hot tune dolphine wouldnt look good... so there goes all the sharks possible seafood sponsors. And that can apply with a thousand sponsors for a thousand clubs.
The only reason the Dragon took longer to have a sponsor this year was because of the high price it costs to get sponsored. So while your mob sells yourself short, we dont.
And saying that we should be more worried than the Sharks is your funniest point. The Sharks have ALREADY had to be rescued from financial destruction, and as soon as they are rescued they slide again.
So the Sharks future is indeed in more of a short term danger than the Dragons.
In final, so what if the St George bank pulled out? Wow, theres a chance (not to mention the chance of the Bank actually selling up), that another BANK wouldnt want to sponsor us.
With the banks out of the picture that leaves almost no possible sources of sponsorship.
Come back when you can make some substantial comments that are actually true buddy.
