our justice system is based on the concept of 'mens rea'...

so i guess that explains why judges wear those crazy wigs & loopy outfits...

Yes mens rea matters. But so does outcome. It is one of many variables taken into account. mens rea matters in determining guilt but the outcome of the crime matters in determining a punishment.

In this case the punishment fits the outcome. It's been said ad nauseum, but clowns like you simply ignore the fact that if he didn't have a record he would be playing on Sunday.

The Perth Roosters has a nice ring to it.

I think it would be good for the game.

There is no f**king mens rea. Mens rea means "guilty mind", which means if you intended to do the crime you are guilty of it no matter whether you were successful or not. It's not at all relevant. Obviously Luke didn't go into that tackle with the ambition of spear tackling SBW. It was a careless tackle. He deserves to be suspended. That is it.

Didn't realise Greenburg ran the judiciary.

All these people in the NRL that bow down to his every whim. What a powerful man :sarcasm:

Idiot

That's not very nice calling someone an idiot you knob gobbler.

The MRC report to him.

We're gonna flog you good.

According to the paper today, Luke is also not allowed to take part in the presentation after the game.

But he's free to do media commitments and be all over the TV prior and during the game like others have been this season correct?

The NRL is truly hopeless. Double standards. Rules they don't know, enforce or understand. They wonder why people are turning it off and it's because they couldn't handle an order of a glass of water without stuffing it up.

"Go against the grain"? Are you high? Most neutral fans are with us. The only place a majority is against us is on here because of the freaks obsessed with me. Supporting Souths is not going against the grain, it's going with the grain.

Almost every neutral supporter I have spoken with are going for the Bulldogs. Amazingly none of them post on here, so I can't even blame it on you.

JM is definitely going against the grain based on the 30 odd responses I have had so far and that includes a range of people from different backgrounds that support different teams.

Its about 90% in favour of the Dogs I'm afraid to say.

Was Cam Smith allowed to attend the post game presentation in 2008?

I can't remember as I was too busy laughing at the woeful Storm performance that day.

Greenburg was just on The Grill Team and confirmed that Luke will be allowed onto the ground at the end of the game to either comiserate or celebrate with teammates, and said he will be allowed to take part in lap of honour if they win, he just wont be able to get a ring as they only make 17 for the players taking part.

In other words it's a beat up.

Spot on, rather than talking about the game itself or looking at individual matchups, they run with a 'letter to the law' story to paint the NRL as idiots.

Can't say this tactic surprises me.

It's dean ritchie, hes written them all year, he wrote one a couple of weeks ago trying to make out that the rule book says extra time not golden point.

I'm still referring to the actual presentation after the game. Why shouldn't he be allowed to be a part of it? He's suspended? Hasn't stopped anyone this year from commitments all over TV. I'm not a Bunnies fan. I just think the NRL is a joke.

we've had a really good finals series imo, fully of storylines, a great 2nd weeks and just some overall good footy.

all we ever hear tho is whinging, ref this, judiciary that, everything is a huge conspiracy by the NRL, majority of the fans seen to watch the game to see what they can whinge about the next day

the fact something as trivial is this is what we're talking about on thursday before the big one is absolutely f**king ridiculous
