Of course he's allowed to join his team mates after the game whether they win or not.

John Lomax in 1994 was suspended, but I remember he was wearing his Canberra jersey in the stands and was allowed to join his team mates afterwards.

Almost every neutral supporter I have spoken with are going for the Bulldogs. Amazingly none of them post on here, so I can't even blame it on you.

JM is definitely going against the grain based on the 30 odd responses I have had so far and that includes a range of people from different backgrounds that support different teams.

Its about 90% in favour of the Dogs I'm afraid to say.

Not saying I don't believe you but I am fkn surprised that anyone is going for us on Sunday. The only people I even considered would be Roosters fans (as yourself) and even then with a fair whack of praying for a draw and 34 career ending injuries.

Turns out the decision was overturned. He was previously barred from entering the field after the game but is now allowed to be involved in the celebrations across the board, he just won't receive a ring on the night.

The Telegraph was right believe it or not.

No they weren't. They were already told that

“Our operations guidelines for suspended players are clear. A suspended player cannot enter the field of play prior to, during or after a match.

“We have had some dialogue with Souths and we will be allowing some latitude in this case, allowing Issac to take the field at the completion of the match to either celebrate or commiserate with his teammates.”

Souffs getting preferential treatment yet again...

^ did that one whoosh as it went over your head?

I want to see what the NRL will do if Luke does get a hand on the trophy at some point. I can just see Greenburg crash-tackling him on the lap of honour. Gets him high and is rubbed out of administration for a month.

Still a stupid decision. A premiership is won over a season, being suspended for one game shouldn't preclude him from celebrating fully.

Personally If I wasn't a Roosters fan the club I would most likely support is the Bulldogs, so mine isn't an anti Souths stance, rather its a Pro Bulldogs one.

I asked four more people at lunch who they want to win on Sunday

Tigers fan = I want Souths to lose
Manly fan = I want Souths to lose
Dragons fan = I want the Dogs to lose

None of them wanted either of you to WIN, but that was the split on who they disliked MORE.

Of my group of mates who are Rooster supporters whose opinions I know right now, one will be cheering for Souths, two will be cheering for the Dogs and one will be hoping you both lose.

I guarantee he'll end up with a ring.

In 2004 Thurston gave his ring to Price, and the NRL then had Thurston another ring made for his generosity.

I bet my life that one of the souths boys gives Luke their ring and then the story hits the papers and the NRL makes another ring again.

That probably had something to do with the fact the jeweler was a Bulldogs fan.

Zed n Zed was it?

Souths have the option to buy additional rings outside of the 17 direct from the jeweller. No doubt they will do this for Luke as will the Bulldogs for Ennis if they win

Didnt thurston only just get that ring this year? And I think the jeweller gave it to him.

I agree Luke will end up with one.

Edit: cant post the link but read a dt story from a month ago saying Folks gave JT his ring and Zed and Zed is making him one this year for some reason.

Remember when Manly won in 2008 and all the wankers on the board decided to commission their own rings? I think they wound up being more elaborate and expensive than the player rings

You would think it would make more sense for the NRL to issue a ring to every player that played first grade that year for the club, rather than only to the 17 who took the field that day. A premiership is won over 30 weeks, so all players involved played a part.

I agree it shouldnt just be the gf 17 that gets one. Seems silly that either Ennis or Luke wont officially get one.

It's not, I'm pretty sure the coach is given one on the night as well and the clubs can order as many more as they wish.

In 06 Tame Tupou was 18th man and he got a ring on the night.

As is the case every year, we will provide 20 rings to the NRL — players, coach, CEO and chairman — although the winning club can always order more.”

I hate when you oversleep and miss things. And this time I missed the whole grand final. What was the score?
