I guess. But he seems to have a broader spectrum than Smith. I mean Denzel has played:

* Malcolm X
* the soldier going nuts in The Manchurian Candidate
* a burnt out cop (a few times actually hehe)
* a very crooked cop

Will Smith played the role of a historically important figure in Ali, and had his dramatically potent role in Happyness, Vance and even Seven Pounds. He's played the goofy date doctor in Hitch, the likable cop in MiB and to an extent Independence Day. He played the hero in I Am Legend.

But has he ever played an "evil" character? A guy that you just love to hate? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Doesn't mean he's a bad actor, by any means.

I have never disputed the mans acting talent. I do say that 90% of his movies are glossy looking, but crap. I also say that he has not appeared in one "great" movie, which is astounding for a man who is the number one star today.

"I,Robot" and "I am Legend" were good, but they could and should have been handled better.
I saw "Bad Boys 2" today. Very crap movie, but the stunts in that movie were simply astounding.

"I, Robot" would make Isaac Asimov very annoyed imo.

And "The Omega Man" was a superior film to "I Am Legend" imo. But we are all different.

What I can't understand, though, is Will Smith's critical acclaim for "Happyness" - the guy spouted cliche after cliche and had an easy co-star to work with (if you can't emote with your own, true son, then you'll never do it)...And suddenly it's a great film?

For the record, I found "Happyness" to be dull, bland and utterly inane. Seen it all before a million times. It was mildly watchable because I enjoy Will Smith. But was he THAT good here? I say no.

Damn straight. Most people on here will never get to see or understand how good "The Painted Veil" was. Certaintly, not for the moron crown.

Will Smith ....f76k you for funding the Karate Kid remake and f*&k you casting your bad actor son in the lead role. Jaden Smith has stated that he wants to fill the film with martial arts moves that he learned from playing Xbox.

he has accomplished more than most could imagine.

hancock $624,346,274
i am legend 585,055,701


some of the best actors cant even acheive that.

also, when the guy is being interviewd, he is always happy to speak to anyone and you can see by his character that he is just a great bloke in general.

lets not forget about his charities.
i dont know the details of his charities but he does alot in that department as well (i guess all actors do this which is good)


so to call will smith over rated, you have to get your head checked.

I disagree - both "I Am Legend" and "I, Robot" were awful. Particularly the latter - would make Sir Isaac Asimov very, very unhappy.

I actually thought he was good in Hancock, but the movie went to sh*t with the angel angle and Theron's character. Who doesn't like a drunk obnoxious hero?
