Will the new rectangle Stadium in Melbourne be the best league venue?

The new 31,000 seat stadium in Melbourne should be the best league stadium in the country. I'm a Queenslander and I hate to say but I think it will be better then Skilled Park and Suncorp Stadium.

I will soon find out when I'm down there for the test.

I'm the opposite. I'm a Victorian Storm fan but I think suncorp wil remain the best. Love watching games there, especially origin.

New storm stadium will be much better than skilled park though. More advanced.

I'm expecting a lot of Victorians to get trapped in the corners the first few times they try to get out of this Stadium.

They aren't used to sporting grounds that don't have round edges.

I think it will be. The main reason being is that as excellent as Suncorp is there was one time i went there and was stuck pretty much right up the top and for me it was just far too high. I've been there a few other times and it was great down lower but IMO if you're stuck up the top it's nowhere near as much as an enjoyable experience. Others might see it differently but that's just my take on it.

You only have to look at the pictures of the new stadium to see that even the highest seat in the house will still really close given the capacity and the gradient of the seating. By the looks of things the stands are pretty steep which should give the affect of looking over the ground as opposed to at it if that makes sense.

I hope it ends up being the best. It is always good to keep raising the bar in regards to stadiums around Australia for league. Hell, we have had the most pathetic grounds that I can think of for a western and supposedly rich modern nation to watch league from, so it is about time the quality is significantly improved upon. Most are either crap or multi purposely built which then makes them useless for all major football codes bar that useless crappy thing called AFL.

If I can be so kind to ask, has anyone here got any current photos of the stadium and its progress? If so thanks in advance and cheers.

Sounds like it will have facilities to match. End of the day you want the following-

1. Seats that are close to the action.
2. Accessible by train and bus
3. Plenty of bars so your not wasting your viewing time standing in a line
4. Plenty of toilets for obvious reasons

I'm actually a Rabbitohs fan that lives in Sydney. Can only dream that one day that Souths move from a 85 000 capacity stadium to a 25-35 seater stadium.

In saying that the way Souths membership is going maybe in 10 years we will have 30-40 thousand a week in ANZ ....

Not the biggest fan of Souths but would be great if they could go back to Redfern at least for a few comp games.
