 lived out west for 20 years. If anything, I'm a wannabe Eastie!

But seriously. Cans > watered down overpriced sh*te in plastic cups.

A case of "you can take the boy out of the West".....

I remember in the past beer being available in PET bottles. I think I had them at Stadium Australia in the members section. I always thought that these were a good idea because at least you knew you were getting the proper stuff and it didnt taste metallic.

On the downside, the bottles can be filled with urine and thrown at St George players..... oh hold on that's another benefit. Hooray.

don't get me wrong, cans are thoroughly sh*t...but plastic cups are horrible, especially at the footy when your sitting on a reasonably steep hill.

This will be a world class stadium. Will it be the best in rugby league let alone Australia? That is up for debate. All I know is the more great stadiums we have for our clubs, the better off we as a code are in my opinion. I look forward to seeing the unveiling.

I'm not sure about the green seats either..... Be interesting to see who the sponsor of the stadium is.... Maybe BP...

Newcastle's western stand is a spectacular failure in the atmosphere stakes because it separates the crowd and has no 'echo' - basically - the New-Cas-Tle chant is dead because no one can hear anyone else.

Looking at the way the roof forms a shell around the ground in Melbourne, it looks like they will name it the thunder dome, because the crowd noise should be amazing - it will echo like crazy.

With luck the easten stand at EAS will make the place echo a bit - but it will never have the atmosphere of the thunder dome i think.

yeh I thought that as well about the noise. Having been to many UK grounds where the stand roof is low the noise it generates is massive. Going to sound as well as look great. Particularly on the ends which is where the noisy lot tend to be.

Had they made the seats Blue or Purple or Red, various codes would have whinged-no one wears green-no arguments.

I dont really mind the colour. As long as im sitting on one of the seats at the storm broncos game the colour wont be an issue! Logical choice would have been navy as its victoria colour and features on storm, rebels and victory kit but the green will do. Cant wait to start going to games there!

Were the green seats going cheap at Bunnings were they? I think they have ruined what was going to be the premier stadium in Australia. Aesthetically it looks wrong .... I know Celtic have green seats.... Least they have a massice CELTIC in white.

Oh well....
