Good chance before AI takes over the world and kills all humanity that AI releases a superb rugby league game that we all get to enjoy before our eventual demise.

CEO Ross from Bigant said last year there wont be another one for 3 or 4 years. Presumably it didnt work out with the new developer, whoever they were, so BigAnt were approached to make it again. But he was right, there is not even one in development anymore.

It's funny. Only this afternoon I was wondering to myself that if (if!) a new game ever came out, if it would be including the Las Vegas stadium.

Then I see this just now.

I guess we'll find out this year..!

Fan-bloody-tastic.
I hope it gets released on the PS4. I don't particularly want to be getting a new system, but if I need to, then so be it..!

For those curious about what this new League game COULD look and feel like I'd encourage you to take a look at Rugby 25 which Big Ant released sort of recently. That particular game borrows a lot from RLL4 with career mode seeming a bit bare bones and gameplay having its share of issues.

On the plus side graphically it is very nice and in Rugby 25 they had a ton of leagues ranging from the major ones all the way down to very minor international leagues. Could be a possibility that we can play from NRL all the way down to the very smallest leagues.

Personally I enjoyed RLL4 a lot and have hundreds of hours into that so if we got some improvements on the career mode, roster improvements, a few in-game upgrades and a few more things to do I'd be quite happy. I know most people hated RLL4 though...

I didn’t play RLL4 very much even though I was hyped to play it. I didn’t like some of the controls, especially switching between players in defence.
Again I’m looking forward to this if only to play with friends online and have some laughs.

Take my advice boys, and I truly mean this: don't build much hope for the new Rugby League game. I've been watching Youtubers and BigFooty react to the new AFL game (made by the same studio), and it really is just more of the same dogshit.

These people have ONE job, to make games that are supposed to resemble the feel and flow of the sport they're imitating as much as possible, and they are not even close, and they haven't gotten close since 2012. I f**king hated RLL2 at times for the infuriating slingshot A.I magically finding intercepts and tackle breaks exactly when they needed it, but it was at least somewhat playable. It's been horrendously bad and an insult to fans ever since. I distinctly remember hating RLL4 so much, I literally marched outside with the game and slam dunked it into the bin.

Save yourself 100 bucks, please.

I think the developers concentrate too much on game modes like Career mode when they just need to nail gameplay to make most people happy.
