Will we be implicated in this doping scandal?

Looking back to 2005??? Only eight years ago hey. They'd better have something other than the Wicks case or otherwise this is a massive political stunt. Tarnished a lot of people if they've unearthed something that has already been dealt with by the courts.

f**k me dead, are they fair dinkum? They'll undoubtedly find tonnes of dirt over that period, hopefully none that hasn't already been dealt with though.

All that comes to my mind is the "Ring Gids" quote..

Also Johns was with us back then when it wasn't such a good period.

I think we're gonna have a lot of names come out from this club.

I think the best we can hope for is that it's issues involving ex-players. I hate this trickle of information though.

I don't think we're down shit creek just yet. For all we know right now Ben Cross could have got done for something he did in 2009 and that's all there is to it (he never seemed to be all there). I trust Wayne Bennetts word that whatever happened hasn't been in his tenure.

man i do have some bad feelings about this.
i hope its just wicks
but its a bit naive to think that
50 current and former players over 6 clubs

that means at least 3 are pretty heavily involved
sigh

this suspense is killing me. I am so angry at our club and yet it could be barely anything. No matter what happens we are already going to be tarnished even more for having a drug culture.

I don't think it's fair to be angry at the club - yet. For all we know it was a group of rogue players that the club had no idea were using anything out of the ordinary.

I concur on the suspense though. I'd rather have not known we were involved until they were naming names.

I know I cant be angry yet, I just am.. Look at our history, Odavis, Mad Dog, Joey, Wicks, Housten to name a few over our history that have been involved with illegal substances. If anything new comes out of this, it will be very hard to swallow. We are a resilient club but we cant just keep taking these hits every few years.

All I'm going to say at this point in time is f*** Labor and f*** Kate Lundy. And I don't even like Big Ears Abbott and the Libs.

I won't feel sick over speculation raised by some hack politician. I'll feel sick if the investigation actually produces some hard evidence, until then this whole political farce and media circus can go to hell. Up the Knights!

Just means they are better at covering things up

No my friend this just shows what I was saying the other day at the broncos we breath success fair and square and the club is run with excellence on and off the field we don't have time for rubbish like this or will not allow it in to our great culture when you put on that broncos shirt you represent all the great fans like myself and the people in the state.

I know if I was a Knights fan right now I would be very angry especially if your a constant season ticket holder.

The thing we must look at is we have a change in ownership, adminastation, coaching and most players at the club have not been here for much longer than
wayne. I hope that the players and people involved are not at the club anymore if there is any charges to be laid.

Seems a valid way for Labour to keep the Ranga out of the headlines for a change. Lundy and Co have thrown a hand grenade into the backyard if Aussie Sport and don't care if innocents get hurt in the process.

Indictable offences should have been released at the same time as the initial findings.

Hands up who wishes Joey took the Rugby offer? I wonder what is going through the minds of Smithy and Hages right now given it is 2005 onwards we are talking.

You kidding me? I'd give anything to see Joey re-lace the boots even one more time. Blaming it all on him is a bit of a copout. Having said that, I've got no doubt he did his part in establishing the culture. Without him, we'd be without premiership... hell, we might not even have a club anymore - we may have gone broke long ago.

Never will I regret having Andrew Johns on the field for any single match in which he chose to represent the Newcastle Knights. He gave us far too much. It's easy to look back in retrospect... well after the hype has died down... but the Joey years, they were the best of times. Every single match was a spectacle, a true event.
