i dont want it to be forgotten lol its our excuse to get rid of stuartThey've only had that policy for a year. I'm sure it will be easily forgotten. I would prefer DH anyway.

*waits for someone to put up the infamous stunned mullet hagan pic yet again*I think they'll have to keep that policy. The whole idea was that it was a full time job and to copy the Maroons. I don't know who they'd replace Stuart with though.
i wonder if he will play nyc or start off lower. I know its a long shot, but has anyone seen Jamil play?
I read that Manly wanted him to play NYC this year but the rules don't allow under 17s to play that grade.
He'll be 17 next year, and with Kearney wanting juniors to regularly play up a grade, I'm certain Jamil will play at least some NYC in 2012, if not the whole season.

I don't think Stuart did that good a job this year. He talked it up like he was but he's one of those coaches who can never make his mind up and he did no better than other coaches of the Blues had done the previous 5 years but somehow what he's done is considered revolutionary.
It's unfair to judge a coach's first season by his on-field results, whether fair or foul. Remember Stuart and Hagan both won premierships in their first seasons at club level.
We like to take the piss out of the word but a coach's first year anywhere is about establishing the S-word.
Daniel Anderson might be the best coach available for NSW but coaching Origin is less about coaching ability and more about credibility as an Origin legend.
That said, Gould managed to become an Origin legend as a coach without ever playing at that level.
It's a tough one if they lose Stuart. As shit as he is at club level, I actually think he's doing a decent job for the Blues. But the money and the prestige for coaches is in coaching an NRL club, not a rep team.
Queensland are fortunate they have a couple of ex-Origin players who have failed coaching at club level, so they're able to have a full-time coaching staff. The Blues have a couple of blokes who fit the bill but Wayne Pearce is on the NRL Independent Commission and Tommy Raudonikis isn't good for the game's image ("Cattle Dog!")
Dymock's got a club job at least next year. I wonder if Dean Pay would be interested?
which raises the question who will be the nsw origin coach next year? assuming they keep their policy of having a non club coach running the side
Well I think rep footy is a bit different to club level. You don't need to build a squad, you can hand pick it yourself. On top of that you only need to get your side to perform 3 games a year. The fundementals would still be the same obviously, but coaching at rep level shouldn't take years of building something like it would require at club level. Especially if that coach is only committed for a single year.
Regarding Hopoate's 2 year mission, i seem to remember another highly regarded Hopoate son playing with the Rossters u20's a few years back. He also left on a 2 year mission but didn't seem to make it when he returned.
Anybody eslose remember this.
That was John Hopoate's brother Albert. He wasn't as talented as Will
