I'm no Mason fan, nor a Dogs fan, but in this case I think he makes some good points
Read the article in the initial post, on this occasion I don't believe this to be an attempt by Mason to pad his bank balance
Oink !
Immortal said:Interesting.
Pigskin, tell us how you think abondoning Origin is going to solve these 'problems' ? (not being a smartarse, genuinely interested)
danno said:Mason is not the sharpest tool in the shed. The 'strike at Origin time' is his poorly conceived way of telling us he feels strongly about the issue (IMO).

Immortal said:If thinking it's a stupid idea to strike Origin so the players can get more money is backwards, then I suck poo up my arsehole.

Do you get the difference?
Didn't some bloke do it on Ten's NYE telecast?Timmah said:I'm pretty sure that sort of activity is not permissible on live tele.
That would be a real worry if I gave a f*ck what that bunch of inbred idiots thought. God forbid I should stumble onto that show while channel surfing on a Thursday night.ToiletDuck said:The worst thing about this is going to be the love-in on the footy show next week where the whole panel will take turns to agree with him and suck his dick.
Yeah, Gasnier's as greedy as Li'l Willie. Both have played the Onion card to screw our game for a bit more cash. I wouldn't piss on either of them if they were on fire.GC_Gladiator said:Gasnier made a good comment and point on this on the Sunday footy show.
He said something along the lines suggesting that the nrl puts restrictions on third party deals for player because these deals could potentially conflict with the sponsorship deals the NRL signs. His point was that if they cant earn this extra money from third party arrangements because the nrl has signed its own, then the players should get a share of the NRL's deals. He was also asking for more transparency in the NRL's books because he felt that the money the NRL was earning was not being used appropriately.. ie grass roots.
gottabegood said:Willie has made a very reasonable motion towards.......i.e. something stinks in dollar land (not just player payments), and he is brave enough to open the door to get people to discuss things. He has obvioulsy heard many players talk about it over a period of time, and decided (on his name) to represent these wimps.
The bit about striking during origin, well work it out, he is writing for (a) a NEWSPAPER = sensationlism is par for the course (b) Striking vs State of Origin = SOA (big event) association creates more debate.
Job well done if you ask me.
And don't give me this crap about comparing what your job pays...christ, soccer anyone.
