Does anyone think there is a player that will come from the clouds to gain a spot in our backline? Much like Ryan Morgan this season.

Nah.

Morgan had some pretty big competition for a backline spot this year - when he got injured we were stuck with Horo/ B Smith out wide!!

Next season we already have Tonga, Tonga, Loko and Morgan looking to the center spots.

Maybe that Savage bloke or Ryan? But I doubt it.

Jacob Gagan or Vai Toutai if they have a good off season could push for a wing spot, as unlikely as it seems there always seems to be a player thrown up at some stage of the off season that gets a go and hangs on for a while. IMO the likelihood is slim but then so was Morgan's selection.....

There are a couple of blokes in NYC or Wenty who could probably handle first grade, but the fact is this year we have much better depth in the outside backs (including Loko, Sio and Morgan all being a year older) so we're less likely to see bolters.

The dark horse though is Marmin Barba. Depending on how much weight he puts on in the off season, he could find himself making a few NRL appearances in 2012, probably off the bench. One of the benefits of having an 80 minute hooker is that you can carry an extra half on the bench. That's how Cooper Cronk spent his rookie season, with number 6 Scott Hill shifting to the back-row.
