The Eagles are in awesome touch already this season.

It was a shame the poor old Kangaroos had to find that out. :(

North looked good at times but the Eagles were great.

The pre-season hype is silly ... Weagles won't make the day gf.

Although will most likely spankify Carlton to shreds on Saturday night & wouldn't that be a shame too see ;-)

Perhaps not, but they are set for a good year and several years being off the pace.

They should take care of Carlton comfortably, but this Wizard Cup has been full of surprises!

We'll see where they are at come the first week in September.

Playing 12 games in Perth will (& always has) hidden deficiencies in the Dockers and Weagles teams.

I concur.

The Eagles fans love to wax lyrical about their side's magnificent finals record in the nineties, but from 1996-1999 they were just falling in courtesy of home ground advantage and making up the numbers.

They've been doing likewise for the past couple of seasons also.

Deep down the team has a soft underbelly and while, on the surface, its structure of average kpp's and (generally) small forwards offers respectable scoreboard returns across the H & A season, it nevertheless gets clearly exposed when the tempo goes up come finals time.

4 goals for a final, including only 1 from a forward, was truly embarrassing last season.

You were close. The Blues will surprise many pundits this season. They might even sneak into 7th or 8th spot. Good to see the Navy Blue boys continuing there climb back that started last season.
