Watched a bit earlier.

Awful conditions. Would hate to bat on that wicket but at least we are batting first.

Diamond duck in a test what a waste.

Would I be right in saying the last Aussie opener that got a diamond duck in a test match was Simon Katich and he never played another test match again after the Adelaide test in 2010 ashes.

Thats right, they were going for a youth policy for the future and picked Chris Rogers to replace Katich, Rogers was well into his 30s..

I think Phil Hughes was the first guy to replace Katich then it went Private School Cowan then Rogers.

I suppose those few didn't chokehold Pup against the wall in the changerooms so the youth policy went out the window again.

Clarke has always maintained he wanted Katich in the 2013 Ashes squad to England. Make of that what you will.

No such infighting in the women's cricket team from what I can see.

Haha yeah sure.

Clarke was a selector between 2011-2013 ashes when he resigned the same day Mickey Arthur was sacked a week from the ashes series starting when the squad was already announced.

Clarke's a cunning snake he has always said those things publicly. Behind the scenes there has been too many players who have had issues with him to basically suggest he was the problem.

Maybe not all the time he was to blame but he was always the common thread.

You are probably right. Though Clarke is an odd guy. He loves the limelight and his name being in the papers over the years has plenty of design to it.

At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if he felt an odd sense of loyalty to Katich. Having a turbulent personal life and constant fall outs with team mates. It would be common place to him. That includes building bridges after a falling out. I could see Clarke finding it easier to deal with than a normal bloke like Katich.

Anyway womens thread I'm stinking it up. Two new batswomen at the crease we need wickets.

This test is a huge learning curve for these ladies, most of them will have never experienced anything like this in their life.

They'll all be better for having played this test. Might be a bit more competitive in the next test.

Such a huge stadium, and India clearly in front and looking likely for a memorable win

day 3 there is hardly a soul there watching, in fact it resembles ghost town

A draw would be as good as a win, we should get them in the white ball format to take out the series..
