Is there an actual wooden spoon the team gets or is it just a figure of speech?

Chin up, your guys will come good. Its only the 1st round.
Since when did Souths become safe from the spoon. The 4th post I've looked at today saying the spoon is between two teams that aren't Souths! Come On Souths practically own the spoon
I bloody hope so Paullyboy.Paullyboy said:pantherz9103 said:NorthShoreEel said:It will be a tussle between the Warriors and the Sea Eagles for the wooden spoon.

I couldnt agree more, for some reason everyone this season is trying to outsmart everyone by picking an alternate team for the spoon.
Newcastle will not go well, but they wont get the spoon.
The raiders showed the talent they have last week
Manly are looking freakin red hot at the moment
and the Warriors just owned the Broncos in Brisbane.
Everyone knows souths come out and have a good few weeks before fading away to mediocrity.

FACT: If Balmain had merged with a team that benefited our cause, i would supported the JV except if it had been the Bulldogs. Instead we merged with the second worst team in the history of the NSWRL that play in an area full of unemployed rioters that steal cars for fun.
The benefit of merging two football teams is meant to be that "As one, we will grow stronger", not lets ruin one of the greatest teams in the history of League with a team that has always struggled and has zero corporate capabilities. You can go on about future growth areas and the rest of it, but the facts are the people that live in the Western Suburbs on average are far worse off that those who live in the East. Therefore if you are going to play out in the West, you must have a team that really makes people want to spend their dole money on going to the football.
Except for funding half an NRL team, Balmain has gained absolutely nothing from being in a JV with Western Suburbs. Western Suburbs one the other hand have received a significant boost by being part of the JV.
The JV is dying, everyone with half a brain knows it. The only way it can survive it to be successful, which it never will be whilst Western Suburbs management are involved.
Now, to BRET, Whilst Ryde Eastwood isn't the nicest place in the world, there are some differences with our JV with them and our JV with Western Suburbs:
1. Ryde Eastwood is close to Balmain
2. Ryde Eastwood is a long way from Macquarie Fields
3. Ryde Eastwood Leages Club has money that will be contributed to the JV.
4. Ryde Eastwood will contribute players, not pretenders like McGuinness and Co (for PL standards obviously).
5. You can park your car at our home ground without it being nicked.
6. It is unlikely that you will see a riot near our home ground.
Balmain therefore benefits from from the JV, something that certainly hasn't happened with the NRL JV.
Doi you understand now? or do i have to draw you a picture.

Are the doors of that insolvent shack you call a leagues club still open?

Good to see you around Tigger, but gee that was a lame arsed effort if ever I saw one. You should have at least had the balls to tell everyone the real reason you support the takeover by R-E...
...at least they let you wear an orange and gold jersey with a Tiger over the heart every second week.
     :lol:that you support Yappy......
RE assist Balmain, our only concession to them is the name, which already gave up when we became the Sydney Tigers.
For that we get a reasonable amount of cash and no pressure to merge with your filth in the premier league.
but the facts are the people that live in the Western Suburbs on average are far worse off that those who live in the East.Balmain is in the eastern suburbs?
Well, I guess if you believe Balmain still exist in premier league then you might aswell belive this too
