One with half a brain would see it the other way... We Have Dugan, Widdop and Marshall so attack wont be an issue.

Dugan is good however Widdop and Marshall are quite inconsistent.

If you had a half brain you'd prepare yourself for anywhere between 8th-14th.

that's too much of a range to be able to steel oneself for any particular outcome...

why, 8th place and you're playing september, in with a shot at the title.. happy times..

9th - 10th place, and you are generally angry at the team, waiting for results to fall your way, not knowing if you are playing september or not, so can't do things like book holidays, plan for functions etc as you just don't know.. stressful times...

11th - 12th place, you know early that your season is done, you can start planning holidays, social outings, enjoying spring racing carnival, generally loving life (outside of football).. happy-ish times..

13th - 14th place, you are at risk of, and dreading, the spoon and hoping like f**k your team doesn't get it.. stressful times...

far too wide a band of emotions for anyone with half a brain to be able to cope..

you should know this...

i'm merely engaging in conversation by responding to the comments and questions of others..

should my views form a disparaging output to yours, i am happy to continue discourse with you, or alternatively direct your attention to the ignore function.

it will mean it's still played at the wrong time of the year and with the wrong teams..

why should the NRL premiers be forced to play their 'new' side, not the one which won the comp..

eg, souffs with sam burgess & Tee Oh are a stronger outfit than the one who is over there now..

dragons went over in 2011 minus jeremy smith. still won, but it was a weaker side that went.

plus the NRL teams are playing it pre-season, whereas the ESL teams have match fitness under their belt...

need to find a way to play it 'apples for apples'..

Muz, point taken, but regarding playing their "new team" is an issue for SL as well. Last year Wigan came over without Sam Tomkins

and they should have been able to include him in the side...

Saints v Rabbitohs game sold out weeks ago. That's 18,000.

Wigan v Brisbane had sold 15,000 a couple of days ago. That's in a 25,000 seater stadium.

Guesses on the Warrington v Dragons game are around the 10/11k mark at the moment and thats in a 15,200 capacity stadium.

Looks like the British public didn't buy into the other 2 games. I wonder if Saints regret not taking the main one to a bigger ground.

Pommy Plodders disrespecting the mighty Straya, all games should be sold out,we shouldn't waste our time sending any teams over there ever again.:sarcasm:

for the record....

saints chairman was asked about whether or not they looked at moving the game to anfield and his response was basically

"we own a brand new,£30m,18k capacity, state of the art rugby league stadium and every single penny that goes through every till (they own all the bars and food stalls too, they aren't contracted out) at langtree park goes straight into the st helens bank account"

why hire somewhere else and lose out on everything?
