If Cleary isn’t the HB going forward Mal should be sacked.
Martin showed he is a worthy Kangaroo and should at least be on the bench for future games.
Yeo was his usual self. He is by far the best 13 in the game.
Murray is close but Yeo is the best

Yeo is the best player in the game.

IMO a top 5:

1) Yeo
2) Cleary
3) Manu
4) Murray
5) Munster

Yeo and Murray knocking themselves senseless in the opening minutes of the Origin losses was big reason for QLD getting up.

Murray and Manu both have the ability to carry their teams and make something happen out of nothing.

Murray was causing all sorts of problems in the prelim until he ran out of puff as he was worked over for fifty minutes due to having to do everything since Fatrell and Co shirk the hard work.

Munster is prone to a brain explosion if playing on the back foot. Improved a little this year though.

Edit: At club level Yeo has lost six of his past seventy outings. Nathan five of fifty eight.

Yeo lost a single club match in 2021.

Ridiculous stats.

I said this in the WC thread, Australia has the most elite guys

200m, 1 missed tackle and a try is crazy numbers

Nice to see Liam Martin getting his dues, some where questioning him mid season but he proved the doubters wrong.

Perhaps Tedescowould be in the top five?

2018 and 2019 Teddy for sure.

His last few years IMO he's been in decline.

Still bounces off tackles but no longer explodes through for a line break since the acceleration seems to have gone.

Even if Cleary is the HB, and even if Australia win the tournament, Mal should still be relieved of the post. I don't see the point of three of the spine being guaranteed their place from the start, but the fourth having to fight it out. Gives media something to write about, that's about all, and prevents combinations being formed. Mal represents NSW-Qld politics, which Australia would do well to get rid of.

I suspect it was Stephen Crichton's try in the 3rd minute of JAC's last game at the Storm, where he was caught a mile infield by a Cleary kick, that led Fittler to consider he was a liability against kicks to his corner. Interesting if he gets the gig next year.

That and his kick return metres. To'o and Tupou averaged higher.
