Qld and NSW should be in the WC a few years ago.

I won't miss the 'Roos, nor England, especially with that badge they've got, and I've said for years, I want anthems before matches to go. The less nationalism the better in my book. Granted 8 teams in a WC is possibly not enough, but then you really need 16 teams to do it properly. This is what I would really want to see :-

Group A - Lancashire, Yorkshire, Scotland, Wales
Group B - Fiji, Cook Islands, Lebanon, The faeces drinkers (Kweenz-lund)
Group C - New South Wales, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Jamaica
Group D - New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, France

No anthems, yes allow the challenges like the Haka, and no children walking out with the players for the final and semi-finals. Also have the teams run out separately for the final and semi-finals.

Once you've played in a WC for one of these teams, that's it, you can't play for another team in a World Cup. Origin is different, I'd allow Pacific Islanders and PNG people to be able to play Origin and for their respective States, so for example I'd allow T Sims to play for NSW in Origin and for Fiji in the WC, but he'll never be allowed to play for New South Wales in a World Cup. Also have the WC every 2 years. No Lions tours, their insular. So the players get the end of season off every other year, that'll please them, they play too many matches.

Look, RL is a club based sport, and I'm glad that it is, what that proves is that it's a very good sport; as it doesn't have to rely on nationalistic feeling to get a crowd and therefore make money, like they have to in RU and cricket, ay I'm not much of a cricket supporter. IMO forget GB tours, possibly have a Lancashire vs. Yorkshire 3 match series every year, keep at it, it will build. Players need more rest. Let's also concentrate on the SH Nines, and possibly bring in Yorkshire, Lancashire and France into the Nines. So maybe only the top 13 from the NRL the previous season get into the Nines, that'll be an incentive not to finish near the bottom in the NRL.

Yeah, they wud probably beat them, and I would expect to see a NSW vs. QLD final, that's what I'd be hoping for too. What's wrong with that? So many of us are insecure about RL it seems, we've got some really good rep. teams, and 2 very good ones, so lets make use of them.

Why do we need to see massive crowds at the RLWC? Popularity especially at stadiums is no indication as to how good a sport is.

I'm going to drink at least a 6 pack tonight while I watch the footy.

Hopefully this thread will have vanished to the bottom of the page when I pop in here whilst sober tomorrow.

So, you hate nationalism yet identify to a nation (Wales) in your handle. Hmmmm.
Next you want to turn Internationals into Intranationals...

I'm just finishing a bottle of good Aussie (NSW) red.... What are you on?

Wales, a nation? It's not. It's a State, and will be a State in the USE in the future. There always has been and always will be names for places, I don't want places to be referred to as numbers and letters. NSW has it's own government. In fact it's intra-nationals we have now, as we're a part of the same planet.

I can't deny that there are places that can be referred to as countries. I prefer the word countries to nations, but are they really independent? No, the vast majority are not. Look at the top of the Aussie flag, see another flag there? Of course you do.

Why do we have to pander to the Establishment? Why can't we do things our way. I was uneasy with Cam Smith visiting Charlie Windsor last yr. Of course all royal families should go.

Yorkshire is a place of 5.2 million people; Wales 3 million. I can speak Welsh fluently, do I want the language to persist, no, I want Wales to be bi-lingual, of course I do, but to speak French instead of Welsh. And to have sign posts in French, just to cheese the southern Englanders off :)

I want all minority languages in Europe to cease to exist. But regarding this, I am open to persuasion.

On another note, T Abbott was born in England, J Gillard in Wales, don't you produce people with enough brain cells to be able to run a State? Only joking. Go the Blues!

So you have proposed the first world cup where two countries are represented by 2 teams each.

Imagine the farce when the final is NSW v QLD.
