So Johns wasn't a good defender because he got knocked down by a guy who was an amateur boxing champ when he was younger ( Goddard).
The only reason he had the fight with Goddard was because it was one of the games joey played in the number 9 jumper. He would pack into the scrums and defend as a hooker then switch to 1st receiver in attack. How many current halfbacks could do that, definitely not Thurston

For his size Sandow is actually decent these days imo. He used to be a disgrace. He was only interested in going for hero shoulder charges, and once that got banned he seemed to work pretty hard on his tackling over the past two years. That being said, at his size he will still get trampled one on one sometimes.

Reece Robinson has been woeful on the wing to start this year

Brooks is only early in the piece. Front on he is always going to be up against it when the big men are running at him. His defending is up on last year. Rob Lui was a f**king turnstile for us, and still looks to be for the Cowboys.

The man is actually scared of contact. Im convinced of it. Watch him when he tries to take bombs, he trys to shield himself away from contact, to the detriment of ball handling.

He was infuriating to watch play. He would actually dive over the top of a player in cover defense, rather than hit a guy and hope of dislodging the ball when defending the try line.

Worst ever: This one is easy.....Chris Walker. For his relative big size, Walker was absolutely woeful. In his career, I don't think I've ever seen him use his shoulder in a tackle. Kick return defence and catching was ok.....on-line defence and one-on-one tackling was soooo bad. Im amazed to this day that he played State of Origin with his defence.

Chris Walker was terrible. Just ask Luke Rooney!!
