Worst season in history

That's right. We're on pace to have the worst season in club history.

Even worse than 2005 where we lost 15 in a row.

Worse than 2007 where Brian Smith came in for a clean out and we had Johns retire after a couple of games.

Jarrod Mullen has 1 try assist this year. That's gotta be a low amongst halves that have played at least 5 games this year.

Matt Minto has as many as him and Dobson 3 times as many!

It's a shame, the club is plagued with issues, player confidence is at rock bottom, we're clearly trying out there and looking the goods at times but keep losing the plot. With everything that's going on, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a blow up or two from players and we see someone walk. Given the rumours of a switch to the Dogs, wouldn't mind if Darius lost the plot and left.

Always a good idea to find out what the player who represents half your salary cap thinks of the new coach before signing him up.

In fairness to Darius he was probably our best today outside of Uate.

I know he was very good for us in attack, but his lack of effort in trying to cover the game-changing 40-20 was inexcusable. He just didn't seem to give a f**k.

I agree that he should have made more of an effort but I'm guessing he mustn't have known.

It's already our worst ever season as far as watching us is concerned. At least when we lost 13 in a row we had a Cronulla level injury toll (maybe worse) and were without the best player ever.

Now, we have most players on deck, have far better facilities, are not a one man team and have the best coach of the modern era yet our highest paid players are not performing and our terribly basic game plan makes us painful to even watch. What makes it even worse is the fact that we should be building on an awesome finish to last year but are instead competing for the spoon with a side that has almost their entire first choice team out with injury and the ASADA crap constantly hanging over their heads.

Off field dramas don't help but come on, there comes a time when you have to grow a set of plums and man up. If the hard decisions need to be made, make 'em and if blokes need to be told the truth, put it straight on the plodders.

Fingers need to be pointed at each other, not at off field problems. How you handle hardship and tough times is a true test of your character, it defines the person you are. This to me, shows mental weakness in our players which translates to the on field performances were seeing now. These guys get paid huge $$$ $$$ to do what they love don't they? I wish I did.

Leadership and big calls are the only way forward for us now. If the players don't believe in Bennett and the game plan or they want Boyd/Gidley gone but are too afraid to speak up, we'll go nowhere. It's clear something is wrong within the playing group because there's just no way this side should be performing like this and blaming off field problems is getting old fast.

07 was far worse. We haven't even got hammered this year. After the halfway point of the 2007 season we were getting smashed on a weekly basis.

The same "didn't give a f**k" effort like he gave last week in chasing down the Warriors winger to stop the try?

We would have been belted yesterday without him. I understand he's an easy target, and he is frustrating to watch, but he cops more than his fair share of the blame for the most of it...

Also on that 40/20, the wingers should have been back. Conceding a 40/20 on the 5th tackle is close to a cardinal sin. McManus is as equally to blame as Boyd there.

The same "didn't give a f**k" effort that conceded the first Simon Mannering try last week because he couldn't have been arsed diving on the ball ahead of a second rower.

Purely from a win-loss record this we're on pace for the worst season ever.

That 07 team may have lost in a stylish fashion but they still achieved more wins than this lot.

In fact, they had the same amount of wins as we do now after just 2 rounds.

Not to mention that team compared to this one on paper. It's night and day. On paper this team would beat that one 50-0.

Plus, most crucially, that team tried its f**king guts out every week.
