i dont think tigers would go to bad in this game only because they know each others games.

Aus definatly have it on paper but the tigers are a well drilled unit.

It's really not a bad question. Essentially the question is, can a side who has bonded with the adition of skill and confidence of a NRL GF win beat a team of austalia's best who are all great in their individual teams.
In theory sounds great, would never happen even though no tigers players are in this weekends game. This would be a promoters dream!
thanks for realising that I only asked a simple question that (in reality) would never happen... but still, it makes you wonder.
Sadly, some people on this forum don't realise that.

Obviously with Johns Australia would win. Im guessing if you took Johns out, then the Tigers could get the better of the Australians in the Forwards. Sounds silly, but it could happen.

Gower in the side gives the advantage back to Wests.

Because Gower last lost to Wests when?

Considering he got player of the round (RL Week) the last time he played them I don't think he'd give them any advantage.

Australia by 50.
This year's Premiers are probably the weakest since.....well, the 1969 Premiers.

Without wishing to be patronising; if you can read, have a look at some of these teams:
St George 50s-60s
Souths Late 60s-early 70s
Easts 74-75
Parramatta 81-83
Canberra 89-90
Brisbane 90s

These are some examples; can you name one of the Premiership winners since, say, 1956, that the Tigers could even threaten.

The Australian team, apart from King and O'Donnell are all tired old has beens. Look at the efforts some of these players put in for their club sides. It was abismal (Although Civanocieva (spelling?) and Bailey throughly deserve their spots along with Johns).

The Tigers are tried and tested against these blokes and come out on top.

How on earth Ryles, Ryan, Fitzgibbon and Tate even got a look in is a joke in its self.

I don't care but if the selectors are fair dinkum Tate should be out, Minichello moved to the wing and Brett Hodgson should be the Aussie number 1. I feel sorry for the bloke because 1 tackle, yes 1 tackle ruined his whole rep career.

Leave the poor digger alone!

Nuggles was probably marching around Kogarah in his overalls with his "OUST DOUST" sign. I'm sure he also spent the last 2 weeks dressed in a red and white cape airing his conspiracy theories about Tim Mander being seen loitering with an Indian Bookmaker by the name of John 3 days before the Tigers so cruelly knocked out the Red and White V for another season.

The fact remains that the Tigers WT's finals record was 130-40. If I were to take the Roosters fan approach I might even say im a bit worried that we might have any competition for next season??

You been reading too many of Saabs posts, fact is you dunno sh!t...

Come back when you know what youre talkin about.

Im sure YOU wouldve given the Tigers NO chance at winning the comp in Feb this year, say you wouldve and I'll call you a f**kin liar.
Yet theyd have NO chance against the Roos?

f**k off expert.

I tipped the tigers as my outsiders to win the comp this year..

I'll also say the tigers would be no chance against the australian team, Due to the Johns factor Mainly..

Next weeks stupid thread Could the west tigers beat god?

They don't need to threaten them. I'm sure if you had your way, the Saints sides of the late 50's early 60's would play every comp for you.

They only needed to beat what was in front of them and they did that with aplomb.

But back to your original statement.

You need to dissect every premiership-winning team from 1969 onwards, not just pick the ones you think were better and post the team name and the year, just to get within cooee of legitimising your silly statement.

You have a serious case of sour grapes because your team wasn't good enough again and the upstarts got the prize.

Suck sh*t.

Actually, Nuggles wasn't marching around Kogarah in his overalls. It was two ladies in Tiger bikinis.
Mr Doust has played a major role in creating the best club team in Rugby League.
We were ripped off by Mander.

What a stupid thread?

Since there's no chance in hell that anyone would ever organise such a match, isn't it silly to argue about two teams that will NEVER play eachother!

I think you are all underestimating the skill and ability that the Tigers have. That Australian side is not indestructable. I'd say that game could go one of two ways.

Australia 28 - Tigers 24

OR

Australia 36 - Tigers 18

And the broncos suffer from premature ejaculation for the 4th season in a row - they should try that nasal spray.

BTW Australia would win, but only by about 10-12 in my view.
