This club is in better shape than most clubs in the NRL

financially, they are dollar driven, thanks to the owners.

It wont last long though as long as the team is having issues and the fans are pissed off.

One could say that but Souths, Newcastle, Wests, Parramatta, Gold Coast etc have all had major issues with the board, supporters, finances etc and are all still operating.

I am actually surprised that people seem to be shocked that Owen Glenn is 2 faced and snakey. He has a long history of being involved in 'questionable events', but because of his work with charity he seems to get a free pass in the media.

All you had to do was look at the debacle around the Owen Glenn Foundation to see that this arrangement was never going to work. The guy simply does not play well with others.

Eric Watson is the lesser of two evils here. If I was Watson I'd be playing the 'Glenn is lying and we need to get him out of the club card' right to the end - it's the only way the club will retain the support of the public. Then I'd be holding an internal review that decides that Scurrah and Bell need to go (Waavish simply isnt high profile enough to matter - the vast majority of the public dont know him). A new 'director of football' / CEO is hired, and Ackland is brought back into the fold (Paid massive overs & given some autonomy to get him across) to replace Bell.

Is it bad that this whole fiasco is making me question my loyalty to the club?
They obviously havn't shown loyalty to us.
Our club is now a circus.

Watson and Glenn are both two faced merkins, I would imagine - not sure that one is better than the other.

A good outcome at some stage would be a fresh start in the front office - I'd like to see the back of Scurrah and Bell.

Shame is Mannering walks, but who can blame him

TBH the things I am hearing and reading about Mannering this may not be a bad thing.

Reecie. Agree with you but can't see it happening.

Isn't there a charge that can be levelled against players for "bringing the game into disrepute"?
Can't that be used against administrators.

For me the best thing that could happen is the NRL appoints an administrator and orders the club is sold to new owners. Preferably ones who know what they are doing.

Can you elaborate please?

Bright side -

1. shows at least one of the owners is a straight shooter and wants to cut the crap/spin coming out of Mt Smart.
2. Scurrah goneskis surely

Now I feel like a dick - thanks Owen!

yeah, I though Mannering was a sound character...

At least week in week out you get a decent performance from him, I can fully understand him being disillusioned at the moment, I would be looking elsewhere too

Glenn is a liar.

"From: Owen Glenn
Sent: Sunday, 17 March 2013 11:22 a.m. To: Wayne Scurrah
Subject: Recruitment
Wayne I received an E-mail from you about a meeting to take place tomorrow on this subject
As Eric is well aware --and indeed some of the Board--that the shareholding held in the joint company GWNZ that Eric is 50% equity shareholder, that in turn owns the Warriors ,is not under my control.
Therefore I have no part to play in any such discussion nor for that matter anything to do with the NZ Warriors until this matter is resolved by the relevant court.
Sir Owen Glenn"

Yip OG found out big time.

Not sure what good this is doing anyone by playing it all out like this. I fear for the actual team on Sunday. Could be pretty ugly in front of not many people.

The whole thing is unbelievable. Absolutely disheartening.

The Yawion crowd just love this. They must be laughing their heads off.

I am approaching the point where I'd rather do something else than watch a team going through the motions.

They caused it all by playing so crap. I'm sure they are trying, but they just seemed not interested.

I'm inclined to take Watson's side on this. Gklenn is speaking out of turns basically. The way Watson outlined it to Vietch (and I really don't see how/why he'd be lying:

1 - Glenn had already stated that due to the way his ownership of the team is structured he would/could not take any direct part in management decisions and that he would simply be kept informed through a representative
2 - The club had a target of winning 50% of games in the first month, this has not happenned
3 - The board were unhappy with Elliott's performance and a decision was made to terminate his tenure at coach following the Sharks loss.
4 - A meeting was had with Elliot and he was told of the decision but given the opportunity to resign gracefully or be pushed, and given input into how his departure would be handled. His resignation was the result.
5 - Watson stated that had Elliot not resigned he would have been sacked.
6 - despite this, Glenn decided to throw his toys in public and complain about the way Elliot was treated- when Elliot's mode of departure was handled with Elliot's own input. He is speaking out of turn and should STFU.

.

These two are ridiculous imo...

First, this bunch of clowns appointed Elliott - he delivered exactly what any half arsed research would have suggested he would have delivered as a head coach, sweet f**k all... so to say they're disappointed is ridiculous, does ANYONE believe Elliott was going to lead any club to the promised land...

Second, they targeted 50% in the first 5 games and then sacked the coach when he got 2/5 rather than 3/5? If they'd beaten Cronulla he was fine? Again, ridiculous - and looking at the draw at the start of the season, 4/5 would have been an achievable target, given our on paper strength and the clubs we played...

All an embarrassing debacle... we need experienced football managers and quality people - as has been stated elsewhere, Steve Price and John Hart in some capacity should be involved, and when we look at coaches, I'd much prefer someone with NRL experience/success, and someone who can build a club - pretty obvious who those people are and they bring good people with them

KPIs are the big buzzword in corporate land, and this is a good example of a completely ridiculous one where whoever set it doesn't understand the game.

Even our some of our best seasons had periods of slumps, you can't judge based on only five games.

The club is not in a shambles, the executive team and owners are just in dispute.
Player agents are trying to hype this so to feather their own nest, the owners are trying to protect their egos by bullshitting each other, and the media are fabricating stories to justify their pay packets.
The only real facts are the results on the paddock. Warriors 2 win’s from 5 and 2 points from the top 8. Let’s get it on!!

Still by Warriors standards, this really isn't that bad.... SL war, Tainui financial mess/club insolvency in 2000, 2004 implosion and Ando's sacking, salary cap rort, Bluey fiasco of 2012 were all worse IMO!
