WWE Elimination Chamber Thread

wwe.com has 4 matches on the card, the 2 chambers, Gail vs Maryse (Divas championship tournament final) and McIntyre vs Kane (IC title match). We'll probably see another 2-3 matches thrown in there this week. Probably Batista, Edge, ShowMiz and others will be thrown onto the card.

raw chamber, HHH will walk out as champion and defending it against Sheamus at WM.

smackdown, jericho will win it and edge will cash it in at WM. i predict HBK might interfere and cost undertaker the gold which might set up for their second match at wrestlemania.

don't care for the outcome of the other matches

-Maryse vs. Gail Kim

Both ladies make their way to the ring. As the bell rings, we hear "excuse me" screaching out of the speakers. Vickie Guerrero comes out and says she's heard them talking about how Smackdown Divas are ugly. Crowd chants at her and she screams "I said excuse me!" -A commercial for WWE NXT this Tuesday airs.

Josh Matthews Interviews The Miz & MVP
Josh Matthews is backstage with The Miz, who is introduced as one of the pro's on the new WWE NXT show. Matthews asks Miz his thoughts on his NXT rookie. Miz tells Josh he's the first ever U.S. and Unified tag champion. He says if there's anyone that can teach Daniel Bryan, it's him. He says he may be an internet hero but The Miz says a Star Trek convention loser. He calls him as big a loser as the St. Louis Rams. He says if he listens to Miz, he'll succeed. He goes to say he's awesome and MVP shows up and cuts him off. MVP says he agrees with him that personality is important. MVP says he won an opportunity to face Miz for the U.S. title tonight. He tells him to get ready to tell his NXT rookie how he lost to MVP, but how he lost with personality. A third impromptu match is made now, jeez.

In-Ring: William Regal, Edge
William Regal comes to the ring. This seems like a segment for WWE NXT. He explains the NXT concept, 8 NXT rookies with 8 WWE pros. He mentions how he's one of the pros. He lectures the crowd until Edge's theme interupts him. Edge enters the ring and Regal says "now what in the world do you want sunshine." Edge apologizes to "Lord Snuggleworth." He tells Regal he's as boring as watching paint dry. He spears Regal for seemingly no reason and his music hits as he exits.

United States Title:
-The Miz (c) vs. MVP

Miz comes out with Big Show. MVP comes out with Mark Henry. Our U.S. title match is underway. They go nose-to-nose and Miz talks some trash. MVP bitch smacks Miz across the face pretty hard and begins his attack. This is now turning into a pretty good match. Miz hit a move in the corner I've never seen before. Miz gets a nearfall. Big Show can be heard yelling advice to Miz from the outside. MVP hits Miz with the Angle, run-to-the-top belly-to-belly suplex. Miz is bleeding down his face. MVP hits the Ballin. The ref is momentarily distracted and Big Show pulls Miz out of the ring to save him. Big Show and Mark Henry brawl. Henry goes for a huge spear but Big Show moves. Henry spears his way through the barricade. That was cool. MVP and Miz resume action in the ring. Big Show hits the KO punch from the floor on MVP and Miz gets the pin to retain the U.S. title.

He actually runs to the ring in a hurry. He's the final man to start the match in a pod. CM Punk comes out with The Straight Edge Society. He does his normal thing on the mic. Out comes R-Truth rapping to cut-off Punk. R-Truth and CM Punk start things off. R-Truth slams Punk into one of the pods. He does a flip spot off the top onto Punk on the steel grid outside the ring. Punk hits the GTS on R-Truth for the pin. R-Truth is eliminated before any of the pods are opened. Punk is back on the mic. He tells Undertaker he better pray his pod door opens last. He said when you come out, he's going to make you tap out just like before. He tells Morrison his rock star life will get him nowhere. He's going to prove to the world that straight-edge means I'm better than you. The countdown hits and Mysterio is let loose. Mysterio and Punk duke it out. Mysterio tries going on top of a pod for a high-risk move but Punk stops him. Punk goes for the GTS off the top but Mysterio crotches him on the top instead. Mysterio hits the huracanrana off the top onto the grid iron floor. Mysterio pins CM Punk. CM Punk is eliminated. The countdown hits and Chris Jericho is let loose. Mysterio begins his attack on Jericho. Jericho quickly takes over with a big clothesline. Mysterio launches himself off the ropes but misses Jericho. Mysterio lands on the cage of the Elimination Chamber structure like Spiderman. Jericho pulls his legs out from him and Mysterio crashes below on the grid iron. He screams in pain. Weird sounding scream. Jericho locks in the Walls Of Jericho and the countdown clock begins. Still holding onto the Walls, we see Morrison let out of his pod. Jericho lets go of the hold and Morrison begins his attack. Morrison hits Starship Pain on Mysterio for the pin. Rey Mysterio is eliminated. Morrison and Jericho are left in the ring now, with Undertaker still in his pod. Morrison goes to work on Jericho. Jericho reverses a leg hold into the Walls of Jericho on Morrison. The countdown clocks begins. Taker is pounding the pod as the clock ticks away. They let him out and Jericho lets go of the Walls. Undertaker goes to town on Jericho with rights and lefts. Taker goes for a double chokeslam on Jericho and Morrison but they reverse it into a double suplex on him. Jericho and Morrison double clothesline Taker over the top. Jericho goes for a kick to Morrison but Morrison moves and rolls Jericho up. Jericho kicks out at two. They continue to battle while Taker recovers. Jericho slams Morrison on the grid outside the ring. Jericho slaps Taker in the face. Taker looks pissed and chases Jericho back. Jericho runs into an empty pod and tries holding the door shut so Taker can't get in. Taker pulls the door off completely and attacks Jericho in the pod. Taker returns to the ring to continue his assault on John Morrison. Taker runs into a huge spinkick from Morrison. Morrison sells his leg big time as the announcers address his leg injury. Morrison gets up for Starship Pain on Taker. Taker gets the knees up as Morrison was coming down. Taker is slammed through one of the pods and it shatters into pieces. Morrison returns to the ring and tries a pin on Jericho. He kicks out at two. Taker chokeslams Morrison on the grid outside the ring. He pulls Morrison back in, crosses his arms over his chest and gets the three count. John Morrison is eliminated. It's down to Jericho and Taker now. Taker takes the straps down and stares down Jericho. Undertaker blasting Jericho with rights and lefts in the corner. Jericho moves as Taker runs in and things are going his way now. Jericho takes Taker to the top rope. Jericho hits a superplex off the top. Taker goes for a chokeslam on Jericho but he rolls through for a Walls Of Jericho. Taker reverses that into a triangle choke. Jericho reverses that back into the Walls Of Jericho. He's screaming for Taker to tap out. Taker is stuck in the hold forever but eventually reverses it back into the triangle choke. Jericho manuevers his way out of the hold. Jericho rolls out of the ring for a breather. Taker sits up in the ring, Dead-Man style. He picks Jericho up for a Tombstone but Jericho reverses it into a Codebreaker. Jericho slowly crawls over for a pin. Taker kicks out at two. Taker hits the Last Ride on Jericho and crumbles to the canvas. He slowly gets up and we hear a comotion. Shawn Michaels has entered the Chamber through the crowd. He hits Sweet Chin Music on Taker. He stands over him and stares. Jericho pins him while HBK still stands over Taker staring. Jericho wins the World Heavyweight title.
Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Jericho
After The Match:
Jericho takes his title and looks like surprised but happy. HBK is still in the ring standing in the same position, staring down at Undertaker with that look on his face. The credits roll with a close-up on HBK staring down.

I can't really judge this PPV on match quality, having only read it, but I must say I'm quite impressed with all of the booking decisions.

Wrestlemania is shaping up to be the best mania in quite some time.

I liked most of it, but I didn't like Cena winning then Batista going over Cena. Cena/Batista would draw whether there are titles involved or not, the match will already have Vince and Bret involved. I don't know if HBK/Taker will go ahead, I really don't want it to happen, but a lot of people do, but if they deliver a 9/10 match everyone will be disappointed.

I love the Miz's swipe at the internet smarks who had a go at him because he is Danielson's mentor, despite Danielson being a better in ring competitor than him. Mind you most of the people complaining were idiots, who didn't understand why every rookie got a mentor who was almost the complete opposite to them.

Edge/Jericho will be an absolute cracker, hopefully it's the main event over Batista/Cena (surely the WWE will go that way, nobody is dumb enough to go Edge/Batista, no one). I hope that Edge/Jericho ends up similar to the Michaels/Angle fued in 05 or the Michaels/Jericho fued in 08, where they are off and on for the whole year.

Mania card (minus MITB which won't happen by the look of things)
Jericho vs Edge WHC Championship
Cena (with Bret) vs Batista (With Vince) WWE Title
HBK vs Undertaker
CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio
McIntyre vs Kane (IC Title)
ShowMiz vs WSMVP (Tag team titles)
Triple H vs Sheamus
Orton vs DiBiase (Cody Rhodes to have some involvement)
Divas Match

John Morrison, R-Truth will probably have some involvement too, maybe a third member joins the SES (either permanently, or just for the match), and they have a 6 man tag match (Punk, Gallows, ???? vs Rey, Morrison, Truth). I expect Christian to be on the card too.

I believe the feud will do me for the WWE Heavyweight Championship than any other potential match on the card.

Who would've you prefered to of won the match?

MmHmmm. Did you read his article on WWE.com?

I don't share your optimism. Edge looked terrible on Smackdown this past Friday.

I was actually hoping HHH would win, and face a heel HBK at wrestlemania, kind of expecting it too, take out WM23 when he was injured, the last time the World title matches at mania did not involve HHH was WM X7 when he had a cracker against the Undertaker

MmHmmm. Did you read his article on WWE.com?

Yep, he was pretty much spot on. The only guy to hold a world title since the attitude era with no charisma is Benoit, and his run was hardly inspiring.

He's probably still not quite at 100%. It was his second hit out since the Rumble. Plus he was against Batista, who is hard enough to get a decent match out of when you are 100%. Jericho is 100x better than Batista in the ring.

It wasn't Batista who blew in that match, it was Edge. He was terribly out of shape and his timing was off. Hopefully, he gets fit otherwise I'd hate to say it, but I'd rather somebody face Jericho for the Championship at Mania.

I'm glad Triple H isn't involved in the Title scene for once at a Mania. Let the others have the ball for once.

Very predictable pay per view results but it was well booked (for the WWE that is). I don't like Punk being squashed but what else is new. Hopefully they are going to give him another "Money In The Bank" victory. I just hope Michaels finally ends Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak. Taker is a myth.

Miz is not a bad pairing for Danielson. Miz is not fit to tie up Danielson's boot laces as an in ring competitor but he does have charisma on the mic which will benefit Danielson as he builds on his character to win over whole new audience. I don't like the swipe at Danielson's achievements on the independent circuit by Miz but hopefully he is just playing his role. They call him "the best wrestler in the world" because he has a legitmate claim to that title.

I wonder what's going to happen to the "you're gonna get your f**king head kicked in" chant?

Please no. CM Punk needs a new shtick.

Michaels has no right to end the streak.

Taker is the best character in wrestling, period.

.

I support it. The Indies are the minor leagues, you don't mean s**t unless you can do it on the grand stage.

Wasn't the greatest PPV, but certainly does what it was supposed to do, which sets up Mania.

The Cena/Batista angle would've been better had it not happened before to Cena.

Last I heard there was going to be no MITB at WM this year because of a MITB exclusive PPV. Have they changed their mind on that one?

Anyway WM card right now is looking like.

Batista w/Vince McMahon vs Cena w/Bret Hart for the belt

Edge V Jericho for the belt

HBK V Taker

Punk V Mysterio - I'm assuming it's likely to still be the hair v mask stip.

HHH vs Sheamus - I'm assuming Sheamus will blame HHH for beating him

Orton V Dibiase - Might get a tug of war with Rhodes on this one which could see him as a special guest ref or even a 3 way.

A divas match.

Still plenty of room to be added. Wouldn't surprise me to see MITB there somewhere. Showmiz will probably defend against someone or at least be involved somewhere. Would also be a step back not to have guys like Kofi and McIntyre involved considering how they've been pushed in the last few months.

"Mean" Mark is an overrated hack. The only thing he can work less than a mic is a wrestling match. He luckboxed into a gimmick that would have made anyone a main eventer. Overrated bum who Vince only builds up because he was around 20 years ago to pump creditability into the brand name. Bring back that dead man inc biker sh*t. LOL that was cringe worthy. Dude is an embarrassment.

The indies are where real wrestling fans go to watch the sport. By the grand stage I assume you mean Japan where they appreciate the athleticism of the sport. Bryan's been there and done it with style.

BTW You're a fucwit but I wouldn't expect less from a Broncos fan.

It was nice to see some surprises on PPV, although I think they had a few too many of them. Vickie changing the Diva Title match to a meaningless tag match was lame, and why did they need to add MVP/Miz at the last minute? Why not just announce it ahead of time?

Despite all of the talent in the Smackdown EC, it was nowhere near as good as the Raw one. The Orton/DiBiase alliance was brutal, and in my eyes, Orton's the best character in the WWE right now. I just wish that the WWE would keep him this brutal when he becomes champ. For some reason, he always becomes a simpering twig as soon as gold encircles his waist.

Glad to see they were hyping NXT. I personally am looking forward to the likely star-making feud in which Daniels makes Miz tap out. Seriously, Miz is great at making a crowd hate him, and when he finally gets punked out - the fans will love whoever did it.

The SD! elimination chamber was a bit 'meh'. Punk was at his best (are you seriously saying he needs to change his gimmick, Pete!?) and Jericho/Undertaker brought it. The inclusions of Morrison, R-Truth, and even Mysterio didn't do much. It was just a disjointed match, and it makes me sad that Mysterio will likely win a feud with Punk at Mania. The guy is just thirteen flavours of bland. He makes John Cena's arsenal look broad.

Not a bad PPV at all. Match quality wise, I wouldn't say it was brilliant - but like AAO last week, it was helped by a lot of good decisions. The PPV sets up HBK/Taker in a non title match; it gives us the Edge/Jericho match most want; and it puts something at stake in the whole Cena/Batista/Hart/McMahon feud.

Feed Sheamus to Triple H, continue the awesome slow burn in Legacy, and for the love of God - don't move MITB away from Wrestlemania. It's been the saving grace from time to time in recent years.

Woohoo Jericho is back on top where he belongs!

But this is the disappointing part. I think the chances of him losing it in about a month now are pretty high.

Surely they'll keep MITB at this Wrestlemania, as a way of promoting the separate PPV later in the year? To leave it off is a promotional opportunity wasted.

Punk vs Rey would be a good mania match, if given enough time. Rey vs a good worker is always a good match, just look at his series against Jericho last year.
