I like that they are going with another brand split, it gives meaning to smackdown, a chance for more talent to feature in the main events and a chance to freshen things up with a yearly draft.
As for 2 world titles, I think they will and need to introduce it. The floating champion didn’t work in 2002 because the challenger could only appear on the one show so the other show suffered because of it. I don’t necessarily agree that it weakens either title. Thinking back to the 2003-2011 days they tended to have worthy main eventers as champions most of the time, of course there were the odd duds.
What I would do though is get rid of the US title and feature the IC on one of the shows, the other would feature a re-introduced cruiserweight title. I would also have one show feature the tag titles and the other feature the woman’s title.
I really hope they don’t do brand specific PPVs as the vast majority of them in the 03-07 period were poor.
