WWE SuperThread II *Spoilers*

What the f**k was Travis Scott doing involved? Who wanted that?
Main event would have been 100% better if The Rock turned up and did exactly what Scott did.
Could have been 500% better if The Rock turned up doing Rock things with the same outcome.
It reminded me of the Summerslam main event (Cody vs Solo) - wheels spinning until someone shows up. That match at least had Jacob, Tama, Tanga Loa, Randy and KO to fill in time. This had nothing…and then the guy who was supposed to show up never did.

Raw after mania was a far better show with lots set up.

RAM was good. I thought that the Rusev return could have been done a bit better though, seems odd to pop up and just interrupt a tag match.

I liked the Steph/Io match, although the promo was a bit painful. Having Roxanne and Giulia involved was cool and hopefully it takes Rhea from the title picture for a bit before she gets too stale.

So John Cena just dropped a “pipe bomb” on CM Punk that may have trumped the original. This was the Cena heel run we wanted.

It was OK, I think he could have gone a bit further with the language.

Looks like the crowd might be turning though, do we get a double turn with Punk going heel?

I don’t see how punk stays face. They basically stopped an inch short of showing the Punk/Miz tweet from 5 years ago. I just don’t think Cena goes back face until Cody wins the belt from him at summerslam.

Punk is far more interesting as a heel too.

I get the feeling TKO are pushing the company in a certain direction and I think it’s looking for those short term fixes to make money now instead of playing that long game.

If they were gonna bring Brock back surely it would have been better to have him interrupt Seth and Heyman. Infact, he could have had Bronson and Bron Breaker in the ring to wreck… showing his power by giving an F5 to Bronson would have got a massive pop.

I get he had history with Cena but they missed the boat throwing him in Seth/Heyman/Roman/Punk story IMO…

I watched day 2 of Summerslam, and enjoyed it for the most part.

Again, my own pet hate was finishers not protected. How many AAs did Rhodes kick out of? How many Cross Rhodes did Cena kick out of? (including the 3 in a row!) The more I watch big PPVs these days, the more I'm less interested in the main event. Which is a shame because they had a really decent match overall

Brock returning was a legit shock. I am okay with him back on the condition he gives us some fresh matches. I don’t need to see another 2 year Brock reign with him part timing it. I don’t need to see a rock vs Roman, Seth or Cody. Give me Brock matches against Gunther, Breaker and Jacob.

Brock's return was fantastic.

Those match-ups you mention for him are spot on.

Brock and Bron would have made great rugby league players.

Clash in Paris will take place tomorrow at 4:00am EST.

The show itself is shaping up to be a B-PPV. On paper there's nothing worth going out of your way to watch but it still has potential to be an enjoyable enough show. Last year's Backlash at the LDLC Arena in Lyon France had one of the best crowds and we'll have to see what the fans in Nanteere have.

So in the main we have John Cena taking on Logan Paul. Paul is one of the best heels in the business because he is genuinely a very dislikeable guy but he's also athletic enough to hold his own in the ring. Meanwhile they've completely abandoned the Cena heel turn and John is back playing to his strengths, even making peace with that one kid he called out during the last European tour. This should be a fool proof main event with Cena selling, Paul getting cocky and Cena making him pay in lieu of Brock Lesnar.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the fatal four-way. If anything said B-PPV it's this type of match and somehow someway Seth Rollins will somehow come out on top against three of the top babyfaces. Hey sometimes you have to mix the matches up but I would have preferred them throw a heel into the mix just to make the match a little intriguing.

Big test for Bronson Reed against Roman Reigns. Jury is still out on him as a performer, so he's going to have to bring it against the Tribal Chief.

Similarly Nikki Bella has been getting absolutely hammered by Becky in the build up to their match. I don't think Nikki got the credit she deserved in the ring - some of those forearms were savage. So a big test for her to prove that she can still go.

The match I'm actually looking forward to the most is between Sheamus and Rusev. I've never really cared for Sheamus as a personality but I've always enjoyed his smash-mouth style and his offence is some of the best in wrestling. Rusev has that in him as well and while his return started off a little muted I think this feud has brought him some momentum so this is right up my alley.

Finally they added a Street Profits vs. Wyatt Sicks match for the tag titles. This feels like a match they added last minute just to get a title change on the show - which always delivers a nice pop. There's been a concerted effort to feature the tag team division but it just hasn't clicked like it did in the NXT days. I think they need to up the ante a little bit and give them the opportunity to have MOTYC. Right now they have a lot of talent just having passable mid-card matches on TV, I think you can have those while also going full throttle.

Regardless that's the show. No huge expectations but there's potential for a fun show.

When was the last time the in-ring product was so poor?! Most of the names I see are over 40 and the action in social media clips of finishes and spots is so slow. Heavy use of pantomime moments.

Aside from the women’s match it was a decent show. Considering it was a massive throwaway to help the big dub get through their current PLE agreement with Peacock so Cena vs Brock can be on ESPN. Wrestlepalooza is shaping up to be a very strong show, especially with 2 of the biggest stars in the company likely missing it to shoot a movie

Cena vs Brock
Seth/Becky vs Punk/AJ
Iyo vs Stephanie Vaquer

Thought of the day: is the John Cena retirement tour the biggest booking disaster since the invasion angle? There’s been some good moments but it has just been directionless and a waste. It was so simple as well - play the hits, give him a handful of fresh matchups and finally win the 17th world title at some point.

Five dates left, personally how I would handle it
Crown Jewel: Styles match as planned, Cena wins I guess but it doesn’t really matter

Raw in Boston: gives a farewell speech to open the show, puts a bow on his career. Interrupted by Drew, they have a promo showdown. Sets up a match for the main event. Cena gets the feel good win

Raw the following week: Cena has his final raw appearance. Declares he has one thing left to accomplish in WWE and that’s to become a grand slam champion. Dom comes out and says he is ls and washed up like his deadbeat dad and that he’s not interested. Rey comes out and tells Dom to show some respect for John. Dom tries to play them off each other, asks Rey to remember when Cena took the WWE title off him the night he won it. Match is set for Survivor series, Cena vs Rey in a number one contenders match for the IC title.

Survivors Series: Cena beats Rey

SNME: Cena vs Dom. This is where Dom turns face, he sends the JD to the back and goes at it alone. Has opportunities to cheat but doesn’t. In the end Liv returns and tries to help Dom win but he doesn’t take the opportunity and tells her to leave. In the end Cena wins the match clean and shakes hands with Dom. Let Dom and Rey reconcile on raw the next night. Cena raises the title, lays it down in the ring and leaves.

Don’t know why WWE couldn’t do a house show in Sydney

Perth get the PLE, SD and Raw
WA government gave the big dub a shitload of cash to run the shows.

Cena vs Styles will not be topped for match of the year. Biggest highlight of the disastrous final year of Cena.

Fun fact: Bronson Reed is now one of two wrestlers to score a pinfall win over both Okada and Roman. The other…..Finn Balor.
