Jeez, there are some interestin prospects in NXT. Leo Kruger, Kassius Ohno, The Ascension, Bray Wyatt (and friends), and Corey Graves all look like they'd stand out on gimmick alone. Of course, they can all go as well.

Bo Dallas... yeah, I just don't care.

I think they just revamped his persona recently. Ditto Ohno, who was a bit generic and similar to Wade Barrett's revised persona.

‎30 minutes of CM Punk and the Rock going back and forth. Finally, the Rock is unshackled, and finally, he's against someone who won't crack a goofy grin when the promo turns serious. If there was ever any doubt Punk is better than Cena, it is now alleviated as evidenced by the Rock being un muzzled. This is what a feud looks like with the training wheels off.

Can't wait for next week, it's been a while since i've been so interested. Wrestlemania season starts off in a big way.

Loved the Punk 'shoot' promo before The Rock came out too. He gets the business in two ways:

He knows what is wrong with it
He knows how to make himself fit into it

He points out all of the things wrong with the industry and it drives the fans crazy because they don't want to be called out on being a part of the dumbing down of the business. Unless they're kids. Then they just hate that he isn't Cena/Ryback/Mysterio/Sheamus.

Punk really stepped it up on the stick and delivered one of the best promos in a long time. I wouldn't go as far to say it was one of the best promos of all time, there was a fair portion where he just rambled and certain lines seemed a bit shooty for the sake of it but it was a good promo that reminded me a fair bit of his infamous ROH 05 promo.

The Rock's presence really elevated the segment, but I thought he was actually pretty mixed on the microphone. There were some decent lines, I liked the numbers line in reference to their match at the Rumble, that reminded me of Ali which is fantastic but the childish insults were a bit miss for me and I thought they proved Punk's point more than anything.

Still, it was a very compelling segment and made sure that Raw kicked 2013 with a bang.

In fact, I thought all the major segments delivered. Ziggler/Cena opened with a main event calibre match, it relied a little too much on false finishes and I thought Dolph deserved better protection but in fairness he did get to control the franchise player for the bulk of the contest so I'll give it that.

I also thought the TLC match was pretty solid. Not a stand-out match, if it was on a compilation of ladder matches it wouldn't be considered one of the better matches, but as a television match it was pretty good. I just hope let Ryback have his revenge against The Shield, so far it's been way too one-sided.

I think thats what its building to, Pete. Ryback either wins the rumble and gets attacked by shield after match or The shield eliminate Ryback in a cheap way, which leads to a match at EC where Ryback goes through one/two/all of them.

They're booking themselves into a corner with Ryback/Shield. If Ryback keeps getting punked, he looks bad. If he demolishes all three of them, they look stupid.

My solution with Ryback would be he loses the Rumble due to the Shield, he loses the Elimination Chamber match (too many megastars aligned for Wrestlemania), then takes on the Shield in a cage match at WM where they can't run.

Royal Rumble maybe, but I wouldn't have him lose at the Elimination Chamber. Having him lose on 5 consecutive shows will only do more damage than what's already been done.

Might just have to have him deviate and have him become World Champion at Mania.

Christ, I hope not. Too green by far.

Have him lose at the Rumble and feed him a member of Shield at Elimination Chamber. Putting him in the EC just puts him in line to lose another PPV match. He can fight a brutal fight at EC, beat somebody (I'd suggest Reigns, but Ambrose can probabyl work a better match), and lead to some kind of 3 on 3 match or 4 on 4 (if they can find a fourth) at Mania.

Honestly, the whole Shield interfering in all of Rybacks matches, resulting in him losing, is getting to be very old now! As soon as TLC match for Raw was announced, it had no DQ and shields involvement written all over it. It is pathetic. Raw continues to slump.

The only thing i was disappointed in was when the light went out i thought it was Undertaker for a split second. Marked hard. Lights came back on and i saw the Shield... Awww.

I'm still enjoying the Shield, but they need to give them a live mic very soon. They were in a top 5 of the year match, and still are yet to cut an actual promo. The pieces of sh*t that were the Christmas/New Years episodes really cut their momentum.

I do think the Shield would work better if they were targeting other injustices more often, rather than just appearing as CM Punk's get out of jail card every time he had a match with Ryback.

I was stunned too. Did not see that happening, but I guess it makes sense given:

Ziggler has the case and it doesn't make sense for him to cash in against a heel

Exactly right. And what makes it worse is that Punk continues to blab on about his run yet never addresses the shields involvement everytime he has a title match.
