Apparently Vince is furious, but HHH is standing by Punk. Punk was right to fight back - its just a shame he hit the wrong guy.

Ryback has lost some confidence in the past few weeks.

I don't mind him to be honest. when Nexus first started I thought he'd go well as the goofy big guy. They do need to give him a quick easy finisher though, a spear would look great

I would LOL if the spear became his finisher.

Ryback lost me when he couldnt pick up Albert and I think it had vince and the like worried, coz the next week, there he is randomly fighting epico and primo, just so he can pick both of them up, saying "hey, I am a strong guy, just had an off week".

I thought Albert sandbagged him, that's what it looked like to me. I say give him a power bomb as a finisher, always loved that move

I do like that WWE are doing something that is common in lucha with Sin Cara + Rey Mysterio. In their tag match with the Prime Time Players both men wore a split mask, half Cara and half Mysterio.

Raw will be coming from North Carolina this week, about the same time Hurricane Sandy will hit. Smackdown will also be recorded from North Carolina on Tuesday. Interesting to see how many people will attend.

Raw Recap 10/29/12

Raw opened with a Punk promo. Spoke about the events at HiaC before he was interrupted by Foley. They discussed their earlier confrontation before Punk challenged Foley to a 5 on 5 tag match at Survivor Series, Foley accepted.

Ryback SQUASHED JTG
Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett
Hell No def. Prime Time Players

Vickie came out to reveal footage of the Cena/AJ affair. It was very Claire Lynch esque and basically it just lead to another Cena/Dolph confrontation.

Kofi Kingston def. Antonio Cesaro via DQ
3MB def. CoBro
AJ def. Beth Phoinex

Then Vickie restarted the match

Beth Phoinex def. AJ

Sheamus & Show did a promo together teasing a rematch at Survivor Series.

Rhode Scholars def. Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio

Then there was a big spot for the Susan G. Komen charity.

Alberto Del Rio def. Justin Gabriel

Main event segment involved Punk & Foley naming their respective teams in the end they looked like...

Team Punk: CM Punk, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow & Alberto Del Rio
Team Foley: Ryback, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, Kane & Randy Orton

-----------------------------------
All in all a basic episode which has set up a middle of the road Survivor Series show.

Biggest problem is the show doesn't seem to have an edge to it. The biggest match appears to be the SS elimination match and the teams don't feel like they were genuinely picked by the superstars but rather a lazy GM who was like 'you guys all want to wrestle?! stuff it! you're all going in a match!'

It's not really Foley's team I have a problem with, as a vet. I don't expect him to pick a specific team but Punk including guys like The Miz & ADR baffles me. Unless they tease some dissension given Del Rio was the prior champion & The Miz/Punk have some history I just don't understand it.

I would have replaced The Miz with somebody like Cesaro & maybe gone left-field and brought in Wade Barrett (the replacement Chris Hero) for Alberto. You can even tease their history as former leaders of Nexus.

As a smokey, I would have considered Mason Ryan but the challenge would have been trying to build him as a 'Ryback killer' in time for the show. Having Kane & Bryan on opposite ends would have been interesting too and probably enhanced their own angle.

I haven’t watched it yet but this week’s edition of RAW completely changed the survivor series line up. The WWE championship will now be defended in a triple threat match between Punk, Cena and Ryback.

Obviously this also changes the 5 on 5 match which will now be team Foley (Kofi, DB, Kane, Orton, TBD) against Team Ziggler (Ziggler, ADR, Rhodes, Sandow and Barrett). The Miz “quit” team Punk before it was changed.

This obviously completely destroys the contrived program between Punk and Foley as they will now have nothing to do with each other at survivor series. I haven’t heard any news as to why these changes were made.

It was completely bizarre to see it all transpire like that on television. Almost like when Vince came out and just disbanded the nWo on TV.

Cena must be ahead with his recovery which allowed them to thrust him into a demanding main event slot instead of putting him into a comfy mid-card position with Ziggler. The Survivor Series card was looking extremely ordinary before hand so the first opportunity they could to push Cena up they had to take it.

We're definitely on our way to Mania season, Raw was a nice step up with a lot of things happening.

WWE is showing plenty of faith in these NXT guys. They just had Big E Langston lay out Cena to close the show.

Thought Raw was rather dour after following such a great PPV. Not a fan of the Slammy awards. Most of them were a joke. Was awesome to see a few returning greats. Wooooooooo

Was marking out when I saw Dolph coming out with the briefcase. Damn Cena though.

Aside from a bit more Shield goodness (although no real development) and Big E's debut, it was a pretty underwhelming Raw. The Slammies are a joke and that's sometimes fun (loved the Tensai/Marella interaction, the nostalgic appearances, Flair, and the Maddox stuff) - but it was basically a whole bunch of shit matches, okay segments, and one big one to finish the show.

And are we really building towards another f**king Show/Sheamus match? Really?

What I liked about the show is that it put a lot of angles in motion & had some fun segments.

Aside from the Post-Mania Raw & Raw 1000 it was probably the most eventful tv show of the year.
