That Smackdown main event looks pretty damn awesome. A lot of opportunities to create a superstar there.

I actually had to go and double check that you weren't making it up. Seemed too good to be true

Not a spoiler, but the rules for the Scramble Matches:

20 minute time limit

Two men start

Once one man is defeated, the next wrestler enters the ring

If the reigning Champion is defeated during the match, the title is theoretically vacant until the end of the match.

Continues until the end of the 20 minutes, even if all the wrestlers announced don't make an appearance

It is very similar to a Tag Team Turmoil Match

I don't mind the idea of the scramble match, but not for the top titles. I think it's more suited to the IC/US title division. Or even a no. 1 contenders match.

I strongly agree with you Eelectrica.

If the scramble matches had of been for the no. 1 contendership I would've been praising the idea. Since it's for the heavyweight titles however I believe it does nothing but de-value the championship and the champion. Which in Punks case is not a good thing...not by a long stretch of the imagination.

Yeah it really does de-value the titles. Makes winning it more of a lottery.
Also the only clean wins Punk has had have been against JBL.
I think with Punk what they should have done is had him in a cage match against Batista. And have punk win be escaping the cage.
I think that would have made sense given the Punk-Batista matches have ended with outside interference.
It's hard to believe Punk won't lose the title in this one.

And screw the guys who are knocking WWE for putting THE Brian Kendrick in the main event, at least there trying to build new stars.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kendrick vs. Big Show on this week's Smackdown spot for the place. I just can't see Show being left out while Kendrick gets a World Title shot.

Also, Cena is injured and will miss the Scramble match, replaced by Rey

Can anyone tell me if the Shawn Michael retirement thing is an angle or is it genuine?

Tommy while I appreciate the concern that question isn't really regarded as a spoiler. The question has been prevelant for the past few months and the only people you'd be spoiling is those living under rocks.

I havn't read up on this weeks edition of Raw but I believe it's just an angle (at this point in time). I formed this opinion based on the SummerSlam promo HBK had where Jericho clocked Rebecca Michaels with a stiff right.

As for HBK retiring I hope he does so in the next year or two. He's still without a doubt one of the best wrestlers in the world but the WWE could use his current position to push some new faces. I believe the WWE needs to continue it's focus on the youth by pushing the likes of Kennedy, MVP and Morrison to the titles. In the likely event of Kane, The Undertaker and HBK retiring within the next two years the WWE need to begin before they lose an oppurtunity like this.

At the moment, WWE has plans for the winner of the SmackDown Scramble match at Unforgiven to subsequently defend the title later in the night against Undertaker. The idea is that Vickie Guerrero would be giving him the title shot as a peace offering.
