The film had its moments, but imo it was the poorest of the trilogy. The script had a very high corn factor - I guess you have to expect a bit of corn from a comic adaptation, but the first two films were refreshingly lacking in that department. Most of Wolverine's dialogue was painfully trite, climaxing in the cringeworthy "NOOOO!" as he held the dead Phoenix in his arms. Then there was Cyclops' melodramatic "STOP!" at the lake shore and Angel's extremely lame wingspan pose when he broke free. Some good visuals, but overall corny and disappointing.

I burst out laughing when I saw that, it was so gay!
I was bitterly disappointed with this film, loved the first two, but X3 was hampered by a lousy storyline and shoddy direction. That f**kwit Rattner should be shot out of a cannon!

Yeah, true. I think if they are going to make another movie, they have to get rid of Ratner, and bring back Singer.

Given the way the movie plotlines differ from the comic plotlines, it would be fairly easy to introduce a super strong, flying mutant bad guy of generic name... and have Rogue steal her powers.

No, they can't. They haven't made up any new mutants so far, and unless there's a flying, super strong mutant other than Ms. Marvel - it'd have to be her.

Singer never quit, he just asked if they could wait while he finished working on Superman. They decided to go ahead without him.

And to be fair to Ratner, Red Dragon was quite awesome.

Red Dragon was quite good, but that didn't have as many key characters to the plot as the X-Men franchise. There were many introduced in this movie, but hardly got any screen time (Madrox and Angel especially). That was my main gripe with this movie, along with the fact that it's too short.

To his credit, I did thoroughly enjoy the action scenes, though. That man knows blockbuster

And, let's be fair, Zac Penn should be blamed for the new character overkill - he's the one who wrote the script.

a). If you didn't notice, Magneto shows that he is getting back his powers at the end - so nobody has lost their powers for good.
b). Rogue doesn't just develop those powers. She steals them from Miss Marvel. Since they haven't introduced that character to the franchise just yet, it seems unlikely Rogue will develop said powers anytime soon

i had picked up on magneto getting his powers back, i was cut during the movie when it happened but, rogue is supposed to be a strong person but and to have her go for the cure just so she could get it on with iceman was crap - if theyr'e that horny just get leech to sit in the room or in the next room whenever they want to get it on!
as for how rogue got her powers, cheers i didnt know that. (im only a recent convert to the actual comics)

Rogue was one of several mutants who hated her powers at different times. I didn't have a problem with her not wanting them - they'd built it up enough in the previous two movies to make it plausible.

Easily worst of the trio. Number 2 kicked arse.

They decided on no Gambit because there was already one unshaven bad arse rebel with an attitude problem - Wolverine.

that sucks, gambit is a bigger character then half of the gits they have had in the series thus far
